All kinds of mixed up. The distances have changed too. Sometimes a week apart, sometimes more. I think the Belmont has even been run 1st.

Before 1980 or so, did we see horses enter the Belmont after sitting out the previous two races?

Do you think other owners will respect the others by racing all three races when they can hold out realistically win one of the races? Probably won't ever see another winner.

That's some BS.

We will when we get a special horse.

Unfortunately we've been breeding for nothing but speed instead of stamina. Most horses are breed to be fast 2 year old and/or mature early and go through the sales ring.

It's our own fault.

Lots of truth to this too.

Other horses have lost in last 1/16th and their owners lost with class.

Costa was a little bit of an a-hole. He could have waited until later to ask those sorts of questions.

Yes, but more could have run had they chosen to do so.

Nobody really wanted to race against him. He had just broken the derby record and the preakness record. Made them ALL quit.

You are right about the breeding aspect of it, but I think the pendulum is swinging back away from the Northern Dancer/Raise a Native days.

When you're in the winners circle, isn't the time to ask about what the loser thinks or says. I just wish the guy would have called out Costas as well.
