Notre Dame needs to be banned or black balled until they are forced to join a conference. None of this half-assed, ACC bullshite that they are trying to skate by with. The committee should make it clear that they must join a conference or they will not be awarded a Playoff spot.

I went to bat for them, and they (like Michigan) completely laid an egg. Brian Kelly consistently boasted that this was the best Notre Dame team he's had. They are straight garbage. They just do not have have close to the same athletes as Clemson or Alabama. It is a shame that Georgia and Ohio State were left sitting at home due to Notre Dame getting the nod. It's bad for the sport, and it's bad for the fans that have to watch that crap.

I honest to God don't think that they could beat Army.

Notre Dame had ZERO business being in the playoffs this year. As evidenced by the beatdown they took Saturday. Georgia was a far better team than they were, and rightfully should have been playing Clemson.

When will you idiots realize UGA was NEVER going over an undefeated ND. It was OU, UGA or Ohio State. Notre was in no matter (except of course for 20/20 hindsight). But if you UGA should have been in, why have a season at all? Let’s just put Bama, Clemson and UGA in the 2019 playoffs and be done with it, clear up all those Saturdays

Doesn't mean they shouldn't have gone in, does it? Notre Dame was undefeated. Big whup. They STILL weren't a playoff caliber team.

Pretty sure they played a tougher schedule than Alabama sans a conference championship game

Going forward they need to join a conference or get g5 treatment.

That’s a really big caveat.

I'm not saying it isn't, but Notre Dame actually had a decent schedule this year. Would've been really good if USC and Florida state weren't crap.

They did what they had to do, meaning they won the games they had in front of them.

If any team should've gotten in ahead of Notre Dame it should have been Ohio State not two loss Georgia.

Per Bill Connelly’s S&P rankings Alabama had by far the toughest schedule of the four unbeaten teams after the conference championships had been held. Bama’s SOS was 17, ND’s was 61, Clemson’s was 76 and UCF’s was 83.

I don't think anyone thought that would happen, hero.

Most people say that is what should have happened, and they're right.

Make them play a real schedule

They most definitely play a real schedule. Schedules are made years in advance. They played Florida State, Michigan, Stanford and USC, all traditional powerhouses of the last 10-20 years. They also played 10 power 5 schools. Nobody else does that.

Having said that, they don’t belong. Very similar to the Big10, PAC 12 and Big 12 teams that have been abused and exposed. Legitimate college football currently only exists in the Southeast (more specifically Alabama, Clemson and possibly Georgia) and that has been clear for some time now. This weekend solidified that.

Notre Dame Doesn't Belong

Of course they didn't, they were an average at best team on both sides of the ball who struggled to defeat Vanderbilt and Ball State of all teams, I understand they qualified on the basis of their undefeated season and quality of schedule but the CFP committee made the process so subjective and eye-test-based when they put OSU in the 2016 playoff and Bama in 2017 despite neither winning their conference and both losing to teams in the regular season who qualified for their conference title game, those teams got handouts on the basis of name and reputation, their performance in the consequential regular season games didn't merit their inclusion those years such bullshite

Michigan, Stanford, USC, Virginia Tech, Northwestern, Syracuse

Don't sit here and pretend that the schedule they played was terrible. Some of the teams they played weren't great this season, but on paper that schedule isn't terrible. Compare it to most other teams and tell me it's terrible.

Notre Dame didn't play Louisville, Arkansas State, ULL and The Citdal.

Alabama did.

And don't go on about Conferences. Alabama only played 8 Conference games in a 13-game schedule.

Notre Dame opened the year against a Big10 team - Michigan...

Then played an SEC team in Vanderbilt...

Then played an Atlantic ACC team in Wake Forest...

Then played a Pac-12 team in Stanford...

Then played a Coastal ACC team in VaTech...

Then played a Big East team in Pitt...

Then played Navy (which went 9-3 or something)

Then...Florida State, Syracuse...

and finishing AT USC.

Did Alabama globetrot? Barnstorm the country as the best in the land? No, they played it safe and stayed at home and scheduled the fricking Citadel.

The schedule looked tough at the beginning of the year. But by the end it looked pedestrian.

That being said, Notre Dame needs to be treated like a g5 team until they join a conference. Tired of watching them get blown out in the championship games.

The ACC, which may be the worst P5 conference

not in a world that includes the Big 12 and the Pac 12

That doesn't mean the ACC is good, just not the worst.

ND is a fraud. I don't care who they played or how far they travel. That doesn't mean shite. They got prison bitched by Clemson.
