Warriors are an evil franchise.

Those poor world class athletes. I can't imagine playing back to back games.
they don't really care about being called anything or having some random poster having any kind of opinion. the goal is to win a title. they're doing whatever they think is in their best interest to do so
doesn't matter what any fan, opponent, journalist think

NBA regular season is a joke. Stop supporting the product
I have always been a big NBA fan, but the quality of the regular season has gotten so bad that it's borderline unwatchable. I think there are three major issues:
(1) The power balance has shifted too far in favor of the players, so many of them seem to forget that they have signed contracts to be paid millions of dollars to hoop. Tune in to a game, and if a star player even feels like playing, you'll get to see a bunch of diva bullshite and half-assed defense.
(2) There are just too many damn regular season games when 20 teams make the playoffs. Trim it down so those games actually matter. Then maybe tether incentives for both the teams and the players for making the playoffs.
(3) Tanking is rewarded too strongly. A single player can change a franchise's fortune for a decade or more, like Cleveland getting LeBron after being the worst team in the NBA for years. I understand the need for parity, but you shouldn't be rewarded for being trash and deliberately losing.

No
You buy tickets with the understanding 2 teams will play
I’d agree if this was any other league, but the NBA seems to be less a league of teams and more a collection of stars with supporting characters around them.
It’s more like buying tickets to see a Jason Bourne movie and Matt Damon’s stunt double does all his parts.

They bought tickets with the understanding that certain players would play. Even worse none of the starters played. That’s pathetic and immoral on the NBAs part.
At this point, any consumer of NBA products should look at the schedule before purchasing.
I do sympathize for the kid.
But he gets to see 2 Top 15 players on his own team.

He doesn’t really care about the Pelicans. He likes the Warriors and Suns because of Steph Curry and Devin Booker. Does the Suns players play most of their games or do I need to look at their schedule to be on the safe side too? I saw they play New Orleans in December on a Friday and come back two days later on a Sunday.

Man I’ve got one that likes the Warriors and my other likes the Suns, lol. We drove down from Birmingham today for the game as this was a Xmas gift for my older son and of course about an hour before we get here they announce Curry and Klay(expected Klay to sit) to sit. Can’t tell you how disappointed my son is, he was even doing chores this summer for his grandparents with the goal to buy ticket’s himself. We are going to make the best of it and he is still excited to see his first NBA game.
Suns typically don’t sit their guys even on back to backs unless there is a legit injury. I’m taking my other son to Memphis in late December when the Suns play there as a Xmas gift, hopefully we have better luck with all the stars playing.

I hate that for your son but at least he is making the best of it. I hope y’all have a great time!

Never support the NBA.

I'm planning on taking my kids on 1/13 to the GSW @ SAS game at the Alamodome. The game will be after 3 days of rest so I'm sure the starters will be playing barring any injuries. Also will be cool to see a basketball game in the alamodome.

Appreciate that and hope your son gets to see his favorite players soon!

saw they all played last night vs Houston and I just knew for sure they were playing tonight.

I don't get it. So because some starters didn't play it wasn't a nice gesture or a good time to go to an NBA game with his dad? Slightly disappointed, I get it. But perhaps also a good life lesson that you don't just always get what you want or expect.
frick you again

True fans know when they’ll likely rest.

That’s awesome buddy, way to point out why this is a problem.

I went ahead and sold my tickets on seatgeek and got my money back and will take my son to see the Phoenix Suns in December. I read that this is the third time in a row that Steve Kerr has rest the starters when they came to New Orleans
So for future reference when buying tickets, look at the other team’s schedule in advance and if they’re playing the second game of a back to back on the road, decent chance some of the better players miss the game.
It sucks, but teams are more concerned about the health of their players than what the fans want.
