There isn't really a buzz, because we become accustomed to an SEC team playing in it.

Bitter? How about your school trying to take credit for Joe Burrow's success. You guys are clowns, along with your coach when he blows it against Notre Dame.

Doesn’t seem to be much buildup for the title game tomorrow night.

I can’t remember the last time there was a lot of buildup to the national championship. It happens on a Monday Night in the middle of the NFL Playoffs. That was always weird to me.

Yeah, sure Not much buzz around a National Championship game between No-Names like Ohio State & Notre Dame. The truth is you're all having a difficult time coping with the fact that all 3 of your SEC representatives got wrecked by Yankee teams.
Look, I see you’re an Ohio State fan… but OP is not trolling.

I’m not hearing buzz about the college football playoff anywhere. For some reason it feels like the season already finished. I had to actively look up when the national championship is being played because I’ve heard virtually nothing about it passively. I usually never have to look it up because I just hear about it.

Being an OSU fan, surely you’re consuming a bunch of content, so you don’t have an outside perspective. But I’m telling you, this national championship feels legit weird. Like an afterthought.

There's nearly two weeks in between playoff games. They have fricked this up royally.

College football forgot that the NFL owns January.

I had forgotten until they mentioned on the broadcast last night. Then I forgot again until seeing this thread this morning.

I don’t think it’s an SEC bias thing, because I was excited for the championship game last year between Michigan and Washington and there was a lot of buzz for it.

What’s strange to me is we have two of the most storied programs in college football history with huge fan bases and that generate huge TV ratings, and I’m just not seeing anything about the game, in large part due to the scheduling… the NFL playoffs own January. It doesn’t “feel” like college football time, so there’s no anticipation based on nostalgia of any kind.

I’m definitely going to watch tonight. And I’ll be excited for the game while I’m tuning in, but like others have said, I kind of forgot about it.

The most recent game was Jan. 10. They could have played this last Thursday or Friday. This isn’t the Super Bowl. No need for more than 7 days between games.

This board has posters from all over the country and I went back 5 pages and this is the only thread I found. It isn’t about no other teams from other conferences. It’s more like nobody really cares other than you and a couple others about it.

Yeah, the buzz wasn’t sustained during the playoffs.

Y'all sure were excited about the playoffs when you were ranting about Neyland North & dumping OSU's goal posts in the river.
Talking trash about how the SEC champs were going to destroy a lame ND team that only beat Indiana by 10.
How Texas was going to make those Yankees sorry that they came to Dallas and messed with Texas.

Now you're all sitting around in a pathetic circle jerk trying to convince each other that nobody cares about a National Title Game between frigging Ohio State & Notre Dame.
And to think that a few weeks ago you were all ranting about how Bama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina deserved to be in because "Muh, everyone knowz dat duh SEC is duh best"

They need to put at least the first 2 rounds on campus and either start the 1st round a week after conference championships or move the season start date up by a week so that conference title games would be Thanksgiving weekend instead.

Round 1 - 2nd Saturday of December
Round 2 - following weekend, on campus
Semi-finals - New Years at bowl sites
Title game - 2nd Monday of January

There’d be more buzz around the playoffs and title game because you’d have all the other bowl games still going, right up until a few days before the title game, so college football is still on everyone’s mind.

Turning CFB into the NFL minors was a mistake. Just like the one & done and 64 team playoff did to CBB.
