Who is considered the best year in and out?

Seems like more titles in NLA but more high profile recruits in the south.

Depends on the year. I would say other than a couple great coaches down south, the north has better coaching.

I do think we as fans put WAY to much emphasis on this though.

One thing I've noticed covering the teams in the nola area, a lot of studs but very undisciplined TEAMS....

Depends on classification. I think the overall football talent in South LA is better, but when the elite teams in North LA are on it, they're tough to beat. Agree with the better coaching remark

North is more top-heavy - they have your dominant teams like West Monroe, Neville, OCS, Evangel, Calvary, Haynesville

South has a better spread of teams from top to bottom, that usually make for more competitive district play.

North LA takes it more seriously... in South LA, big time recruits can pop up on any team.

CenLA is a basketball region to put it kindly

Let me put it in terms of recruits making it to the NFL.

North LA = Louisiana
South LA = Texas

There is far more population in the South so you're going to have more depth as far as teams that are good and talent. Per capita though, the North is much better. Look for the North to get even stronger with the Shale boom. Shreveport/Bossier has exploded an you're seeing that reflect on the field.

South has more schools also, talent is spread around more. In NOLA talent is spread all over and there are quite a few 4A and lower schools. Say Karr and Walker were both closed and 1 large school was opened in Algiers, there would be unreal talent at that school....still would need coaching and discipline.

Nola has more schools because it is a bigger metro area.... per capita number of schools vs number of students... therefore athletes is the same....

I agree with this. I also feel that the schools in North LA seem to be better coached in most cases. We dont rely on one talented player to win it for us as much. I could be completely wrong on this, but thats just how I have always viewed it.

Y'all at LSU Baseball camp today? I'm at Disney, but heard my nephew had a great day yesterday. Coach Davis came and talked to his guardians for a while after he hit. Thought he was a freshman, was shocked when he was told he's in 7th.

I hope my prediction in week 2 is off Chuck. Remember I told you Ouachita would go 8-2 and lose in the quarters? First part was right, hope I'm wrong on the 2nd part.

Nah... it's hunting season.... at the mall, woods and marsh....

plus he is still in rehab throwing program... so his throwing is pretty limited right now.

and today.... he is helping me get caught up at work.

and that does not surprise me about your nephew.....

and I think Ouchita is gonna give rummel all they can handle. they may have just enough catholic league kryptonite...

How serious do S La. teams take strength and conditioning?

I know most of the programs in N La that have been mentioned have great strength and conditioning programs. I wonder if that could be the difference?

You sure as hell did. I gotta give it to ya, when it comes to LHSAA, you know your stuff.

I hope the Lions can pull it off. I know we cant win the title, but its always nice to keep playing and get that experience. I never made it past the second round thanks to Ruston, Evangel, and West Monroe.
