Oklahoma st is definitely not a sleeping giant. Their heights with Gundy is the max you can get out of that program. The little brother school in state and has to leave the state to get the majority of their talent lowers the ceiling.

same with OU, they couldnt win the AAC with Oklahoma talent as their main recruits

they have to haver majority of their talent from outside of state, same with okie st.

I have always (and still do) view that Okie State job as a sleeping giant. The right coach could win big there.

Louisiana has a lot of something that OK does not have

can you figure out what that something is?

just locking down the Annual Top 10 players in the state of LA can put you on a Top 20 program level

For a long time T Boone was so generous that OSU might have overlooked their need to plan for a Boone-less future.
Tulsa OTOH is a rich city and burbs and rural area with oil money coming in, and I'd guess they are tired of being #3 in that state.

That game wasn't because of Tulsa getting better, it was about how awful Oklahoma St has become.

Yeah Tulsa won 3 games last year and may not reach that this year even with 2 now. They are really, really bad.

Tulsa is a private (formally Presbyterian) university. It has around 4000 students. It's never going to have wide popular support.

I doubt OSU fires him, but I can see Gundy announcing soon he is stepping down to allow the university to start openly contacting candidates.

Napier will get fired after the Georgia game.

ironically, Jabbar Juluke could have been the interim head coach at Florida, but getting suspended for slapping an LSU player probably ended that opportunity for him

I doubt Dabo goes anywhere

30 years ago he would have gotten a lifetime contract……

Gundy should be gone immediately. His reaction walking off the field, seemed like he knew it was over.

Fickell, Titboss, Napier will all be gone in the next few weeks too
