Yeah and its pretty obvious IMO.
The biggest issue IMO is the lack of a penetrating point and the post players. I like George Hill. Hes a good defensive PG and a smart basketball player. But if you compare him to the other 29 starting PGs in the NBA, hes near the bottom. Hes 3rd on the team in assists, as the starting PG. Averages 3.5assists per game, while scoring around 10ppg. Those arent good #s. And he isnt a penetrating PG. Paul George and Lance Stephenson are the best on the team when it comes to getting to the rim and penetrating a D. No surprise, they are top 2 on the Pacers in assists. But, they also both average damn near 3 TOs per game. I like Lance Stephenson, but he isnt the smartest bball player and he def gets out of control when driving and misses an open guy at the rim.
And when you dont have a PG that can consistently get to the rim, your post players suffer. Roy is a problem as well, dont get me wrong, he might even be a bigger issue than the point guard position. A Center of Hibberts caliber should be putting up better #s than what he is putting up. Some of it is def lack of effort on his part. But when you have a PG that can penetrate, the D collapses on him leaving a post player wide open for a dunk or a high % shot. They dont have that. David West has 1 of the best mid range games out of all post players. But, again, the lack of a penetrating PG takes that away from him and forces him to play 1v1 bball. Hes averaging 14ppg and 6.7rebs. His scoring is 1 of the lowest of his career. Hibbert and West are 1 of the best post duos in the league, but the lack of a penetrating PG takes away their strengths and forces them to play 1v1 bball. Which they arent good at.
They have struggled lately. Their offense is atrocious right now. If they cant get a bucket in transition, they just play 1v1 with George. If he cant do anything, they give it to Hibbert and play 1v1. If he cant do anything, they dish it to West and hope he can knock down a 15footer. No movement or cuts going on at all.
They need a PG that can slash and get in the paint, finish at the rim or pass to the open guy. A creator. Elfrid Payton would be the perfect for for them.

The mentality of the Pacers is their problem. They basically play like a bunch of thugs… When they get under pressure, they get rough. When they start getting spanked, they just cant take it.
When West does not have the skill to compete with his opponent, he just bulls them over.

I never understood why people think David West is some tough guy.
What has he ever done to make people think this? Because he's big?
He might be a tough guy... but he's never done anything to prove it.
Which is fine, because it's basketball and not hockey, but I just don't get where it comes from.
I mean, other players don't care about David West. Other players get in his face all the time.

Did you just write a fricking poem?

I think West might lead the league in angry stares at refs when something doesn't go his way or he thought he was hit

I thought that was a Zamoro post at first

Haslem is one of, if not, the toughest dude in the league. But from your perspective, what has he actually done in the NBA to make people think he's tough, as you said?

West is a beast. So he didn't get to the title with the hornets. No one has.
And he can't carry a 7 foot dummy and the rest of that team.

David West has been the Pacers best player in these playoffs. He's the only guy you can count on to give you maximum effort every night and actually looks like he gives half a shite.
I'd blow it up. This team as it sits isn't winning a title. I think Hibbert needs a fresh start somewhere. For whatever reason he just doesn't look like he gives a frick. Biggest game of the year last night and he doesn't score.
I don't think George is a max player. I'd compare him to Joe Johnson, not that their games are similar but that they are both good 2nd options. Good sidekicks. But they are not studs and can't lead a team.

I think Hill was the Pacers best player last night. They need some help with a driver who can create but that doesn't have to be at PG.
I mean I would take Hill over the Heat's starting PG for example

Ghazi drops the bait, walks away, and everyone bites

Haslem proves his toughness through his play. Despite his size limitations he is the heat's center and always holds his own against much bigger players both rebounding and defensively.
West is bigger than Haslem, plays like a 2 guard on offense, and doesn't play defense.

I can't stand West but he is (arguably) the best player on the team.

Yeah, West has played well for Indiana since he got there.
