And this

quote:

Michael Gehlken Verified account @GehlkenNFL

Soon-to-be Raiders LT Trent Brown started two playoff games vs. Chargers and Chiefs before this year's Super Bowl. Allowed one hurry each game on 95 combined dropbacks. Trust the Raiders studied film closely before investing in Brown to join AFC West.

Don't forget this:

quote:

Trent Brown allowed 35 QB pressures, the 19th most out of 80 qualifying tackles. Only one OT gave up more QB hits (12).

Brady got the ball out in 2.51 seconds (5th quickest) ...and it’s caused Brown to be overrated.

Someone's crashing the party after a dumpster fire this year. It happens every year.

2018--Bears
2017--Jags, Rams
2016--Cowboys

Why not them?

I just saw a tweet saying the Raiders are probably out on LeVeon because they are almost out of cash.

Like not salary cap space, but real cash lmao

Every year in the NFL, there’s always that team that has all the big names (philly with their super team a few years back comes to mind), all the draft picks, etc, and it seems like EVERY time, they fall short of expectations... football is way more than the names you have on your roster

Bookend Tackles

Let's slow down a bit.

quote:

T Kolton Miller, Oakland Raiders – 52.5 overall grade

While injuries have impacted Miller’s performance as a rookie, his performance before those injuries wouldn’t be classified as ‘good.’ Miller’s play strength issues aren’t going to be corrected during a season, and that has to be something that develops throughout his career. However, his flaws in pass protection can and need to be fixed. He’s allowed 11 sacks already this season, many of which came via inside moves. The elite tackles in the NFL almost never get beaten cleanly to the inside as forcing edge rushers to run the loop creates cleaner pockets.

So Kolton Miller wasn't setting the world on fire on the left side, and it's not always easy to switch (RL does not equal Madden). Then again, Miller still played better than Brandon Parker did at RT.

Now if you mean Donald Penn, he's going to be 36 before the season starts IF he doesn't get released (saves them over 7 mil in cap space).

Gruden has made some moves but he'll need some other things to pan out (the rest of the O-line) and to draft well before I jump on that crazy train.

exactly this ^^^^^

i think its because a bunch of big name stars are more about being stars then working as a team. they arent interested in making everyone on the team better, they as individuals just want to be the focus of all the attention
