Wouldn’t UL make more sense? Not many restaurants and hotels at Northwestern

because NW.State did what they needed to do to get the games there....

and on a college campus when school not in session makes a lot of logistics work really well.

Better than not getting to play at all.

and that's on the mayor.. but it's still a state title game... again behind the scenes LHSAA made the right call...

We played a game there in HS. I remember we were excited to play a game at a college stadium.

We also played at Independence Stadium the year before. I don’t remember that being anything special.

Lafayette more centrally located and plenty hotels. Also a mayor not completely insane with covid fear. Makes more sense imo

We play there every other year against Natchitoches Central. It’s pretty bad when comparing to the other college level stadiums.

Bonine: We will be 25% occupancy at Northwestern State which is about 4,250 capacity per game.

Per GeauxPreps.com tweet.

Kids and youth have been wrecked by Covid far more than the elderly.

I would much rather have a virus kill me at an old age then get my childhood moments ripped away

I played there 25 years ago. They probably haven’t updated the stadium since then

It was also before the prevalence of field turf. We weren’t nearly as good as schools like WM, Haynesville, or JC that played in the Dome every year, so playing on artificial turf was probably the biggest highlight.

No one told us how bad the carpet burns were going to be.
