The Chief of Police gave the same statement, but that probably isn't confirmed.
Nice try

Tallahassee Assistant City Manager Tom Coe will become interim police chief on Thursday amid Dennis Jones' retirement on Oct. 5, city officials announced today.
He wasnt Police chief for 10 of the 11 months
Notice what job he held before, yeah city manager. Any puzzle pieces starting to come together for you yet?

It really is TPD's words versus Carroll's. TPD says victim became uncooperative and her attorney said they did not want to move forward back in Feb.. In Jansen's words, he is told by TPD that the case is "closed," which could just mean that is not moving forward. But "closed" verses "inactive" is a huge discrepancy that can only mean a coverup was taking place.
Carroll, who 9 months later is pushing hard for a charge, was allegedly told to backoff by a detective in Feb., comments which she found shocking. But her experience as a former state prosecutor did not led her to do anything about these shocking statements. Carroll requests and receives the BAC blood work in April, but nothing progresses in the case for 7 months. Presumably, the entire 9 months Carroll is of the belief that TPD is trying not to tipoff Winston.

The city manager is confirming they were lied to about the girl wanting to drop the case by TPD
Well, we can't say that it is confirmed. TPD says Carroll said one thing, 9 months later, Carroll is saying she didn't. You are just weighing the evidence.
quote:
Again, what parts of her story are not confirmed?
The part about being told to backoff. In fact you said...
quote:
She claimed she was warned by TPD to drop the case.
You had to qualify that statement with "claimed," and I specifically asked if that statement was verified by someone.

that's not really an acceptable definition of "closed"

So, we can never really on the word of new person that fills a position? He said in the public that the accuser did not want to move forward.

*Assistant
He is the current chief of police and he went on record saying that the attorney wanted to drop the case. I would think the fact that he wasn't there for 10 months gives him less incentive to cover it up. Why should he cover for the previous guys screwup?

No its not
The fact that multiple sources have stated they were told the case was closed in Feb, vs the victim still requesting info in Apr, confirms that TPD lied
They probably crapped their pants in Apr when they got a call about the status of the case from victims atty, after placing it in the inactive file

Why should he cover for the previous guys screwup?
The previous guy said he wasnt informed, and it was his policy to be informed
He was covering up for the detective that was still on the force, and had done nothing in 11 months

Another lucky break for bama just, like Colt McCoy getting hurt in first series , Boise missing chip shot FG and Okie St. Shitting the bed on stormy Thursday night.....
This year I find it funny that the media has singled out prime BAMA opponents this year to stir up controversy in their programs. Johnny football's autograph activity at the Bama NC game goes prime time during the summer and then the day before the big Bama aTm game a Bama alumni releases photos of JFF signing autographs. Les Miles gets singled out by SI with total BS allegations. Now the only real threat left to a three in a row peat is Jameis Winston. Allegations that seemingly had settled down into the background all of a sudden get blown up in the criminal system when someone starts meddling around. Coincidence?

You like wearing that tinfoil hat?
Why do you think that story blew up? Maybe because the cops weren't doing shite so the victim and her family decided to shine a spotlight on their asses?

I hope you were wearing your tin foil hat while typing out that conspiracy theory Oyster. I wonder why the "Saban is going to Texas," story gained momentum before Bama played Texas A&M and LSU?
This is absolutely laughable. Now if this story came out right before the National Championship then that might be questionable. This is just Saban's way of getting back at Jameis for not going to Bama?
So I wonder what is going to happen to Auburn this week? Maybe some Bama alumni will release some photo's of Kristy Malzahn with a ball gag in her mouth chained to the back of the Gus Bus? Hey it could happen?

So Meggs told the AP a decision won't be made until after Thanksgiving….

Also the story of Fluker taking cash broke the week of the A&M game but with Oyster's biased and selective memory, I wouldn't expect him to point it out.

Admittedly the above is much more likely than someone claiming the REC is behind every misfortune a major program has gone through over the last 5 years or so.

This is too simplistic. There's no need to inject "who they've never seen play before." This is more likely a function of a university's relationship with the town and its government than the fact that Winston is a Heisman hopeful.
There are countless examples over the last few decades of rapes covered up or treated with benign neglect because the perpetrators (alleged) were football or basketball athletes. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the skill of the player and more to do with the negative publicity for the university. Heck, some (a lot) universities cover up rapes that ordinary students commit to keep publicity positive.
