So, do you believe the witnesses' statements have been changing from day 1?
Why would their stories change? They had 11 months to make sure their statements matched to the info from the police report??
Notice thats the only thing that hasnt been released.
And if their stories say JW was there and had sex, why would his lawyer say crap about not involved, his name being mixed up in it?

What a ridiculous statement. He has a job to do and that is to mitigate risk against his client. His client has allegations against him, so it is his job to prevent charges and keep his client out of jail.
Are you simple? Why would he have to mitigate risk in this fashion if his client from the beginning has told the truth, never committed the crime and has nothing to hide?
If it is his job to keep his client out of jail he is failing miserably when his stance on his client participation has wavered/adapted. His job is to be ahead of things not to react to them.

Why is this information considered confirmed? Because it came form the accuser's camp?
You considered the city manager's information as confirmed. Yes?

Im pretty sure one of the few things that is confirmed is the horrible job the TPD and Detective did. And both sides even agree on that. Even though it benefitted Winston and Jansen.
Thats the most interesting thing in this whole thing. The TPD and Detective.
Regardess if Winston is or isnt guilty, the TPD is in for a rude awakening. Heads will roll in that PD.

Uh, Jansen said he was told by TPD that the prosecutors closed the case. A lie
The former PD chief himself said he was not informed, as per his own rule on FSU athletes.
The mayors office said TPD told them she was drunk, and had dropped the case. Both lies
TPD themselves said the case was never dropped, only inactive. A lie to Winstons lawyer
All confirmed, None of which came from the victim

So, the witnesses stories haven't changed. Jansen knew those stories and turned them over.
Because he is only saying what needs to be said to the public to protect his client. Why should he come out on day 1 and tell the media every detail?
And maybe there is good reason for that. Maybe the nature of those statements is why Jansen doesn't want to talk about the facts to the media.

If he gets off that way, that's cool.

No
She claimed rape. It is confirmed that she filed a rape charge at 3:22a
She said it was JW. It is confirmed that his DNA was present
She claimed she was warned by TPD to drop the case. Confirmed by city manager that she had. Confirmed by PD chief that he wasnt made aware. Confirmed by Meggs that he never was informed. Confirmed by FSU that they were told
What parts are unconfirmed?

Whoa, the city manager confirmed a detective told the victim to back off?

The city manager's email said the girl decided "she did not wish to prosecute"

Sean Rossman and Jennifer Portman of the Tallahassee Democrat have more information on the allegations surrounding Winston:
A December 2012 sexual battery investigation involving Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston came to a halt when the complainant decided she did not want to press charges, an email sent Nov. 12 by City Manager Anita Favors Thompson to City Commissioners said. The Tallahassee Democrat obtained the email Tuesday.

it's not impossible. it's not easy or typical, but if the allegations of the TPD coverup are true, they would have a pretty good case.

Saying the girl decided not to press charges is different than saying someone warned her not to press charges.
The Chief of Police gave the same statement, but that probably isn't confirmed.

quote:
During his three-minute statement, however, TPD interim Police Chief Tom Coe says TPD investigators immediately began working the case as soon as they received it from Florida State University Police in December 2012, collecting evidence and interviewing the woman, but she cut off contact in February and her attorney indicated she did not wish to go forward at that time. The statement contradicts what Carroll says.

The city manager is confirming they were lied to about the girl wanting to drop the case by TPD
quote:
Her email stated police "stopped getting responses from the young woman and could no longer contact her for additional follow up and information after many attempts to do so."
The city manager said an attorney representing the alleged victim's family said she "changed her mind and did not wish to prosecute."
The woman, Carroll said, never told police she did not want to press charges.
The city confirmed that TPD has been lying about the case
Again, what parts of her story are not confirmed?

I wonder what TPD has in their file to support their claim she didn't want to go forward at that time. There must be some people freaking out about their jobs right now the way this is unfolding.
