It has the looks of them saying at the presser that there isn't enough evidence to support a conviction as well as inconsistencies that would make obtaining a conviction nearly impossible, so there will be no charges brought.
As for whether he assaulted the girl or not, I just don't have enough info to make a call one way or the other. Might have enough once all of the investigative records are released.
Good post, I believe you are probably close to how it will play out...

Where are you seeing that?

Nope, not at all. Just got a bit ill when I saw the term "The FSU side"...that pretty much encapsulates some of the problem here, football is WAY too important to some and let me tell you, I am a HUGE football fan saying this but some things just rise above that.

ESPN's Mark Schwarz from Tally: "In speaking w/ those close to the case & close to Meggs, it appears Jameis Winston will not be charged."

USA Today
I've been sympathetic to the accuser and withholding judgment either way so far, but this stinks to high heaven.
quote:
In the probable-cause statement attached to a search-warrant request, Tallahassee Police Department Investigator Laura Gereg said the woman told police she and her friends were drinking at Potbelly's bar earlier that night and had about five or six shots. The woman said after her friends left the bar, she began to feel the effects of the alcohol and her memory became "very broken."
quote:
4/4/2013 - FDLE results shared with victims atty. According to TPD her BAC levels were within legal limits
quote:
11/12/2013 - Tallahassee city officials begin exchanging emails about the media request, stating that the girl was drunk the night of the incident and that police "stopped getting responses from the young woman and could no longer contact her for additional follow up and information after many attempts to do so."

Reading for comprehension is a lost art.
There is no evidence in the public purview that she texted him.

This has turned out exactly how I thought it would.

Yeah, I took that statement to mean the accuser sent multiple text messages immediately following the incident but there was no indication of who she sent those text messages to.

Thank God that most guys our age aren't barbarians and tend to be naturally protective of women. But from what I've gleaned over the last couple of days, this case is bullshite.
This girl obviously has issues, but that doesn't mean a young man's life should be ruined because of them.

They can easily find out whom those texts were sent to.

I'll post the story of what likely happened after two. I'm surprised it hasn't made its way to this board yet.

Yes. They can. But one shouldn't assume that she texted him. Until we know she did.

Which is why they did this warrant months ago.

Sorry if this has been talked about, as I'm not reading all this shite.
But if this turns out to be a false accusation, or not enough evidence, can JW press charges on this girl for dragging his name through the mud like this?
I'm not saying he's innocent, just curious if he has that ability and whether or not he should do that.
