Pretty dumb take, and I want Jokic to win MVP. Of course the biggest player in the NBA is going to average more rebounds than a 6'5" skinny PG

So let’s just forget one of the important defensive statistics bc Jokic is taller?

And you said I’m dumb?

Most of Nikola rebounds are “uncontested” meaning the other team was not even trying to get the rebound. The value of a contested rebound is much higher than uncontested. Anyone on his team could have grabbed the uncontested rebounds. The team that missed the shot was getting back on defense.

Westbrook won MVP because of “uncontested rebounds”. I dont think it will happen again.

This is his 5th season playing at an all NBA level. All the people ahead of him in the GOAT conversation either did it for 12+ years or have 4+ championships.

All NBA level is putting it lightly. He’s had the best 5 year stretch of any center in the history of the league. It’s 5 of the greatest individual seasons we’ve ever seen. Longevity will hold him back in the GOAT convos, but no center has ever had a stretch like this

are you being serious?
No one said forget it, but don't act like Jokic is better b/c he rebounds better than a guard. It's a moot point, and you know that, or maybe you don't and you're a moron.

I think lack of titles is going to hurt him more than longevity. He's actually a great playoff riser, which is insane given how great his regular season numbers are. Denver's ownership and front office has failed spectacularly at building a team around him though.

Guy is on pace to be the only MVP in league history to never play with an active all star or defensive team player.

The funny thing is that a center getting more rebounds than a guard is expected. A guard getting more blocks than a center is not. Jokic fans get very selective with the stats they choose to care about on a given day.

Shai is having a better year, he leads in all the advanced metrics and is setting records with a bunch of college kids. He’s an all around better player due to his defense as well.

Jokic accumulated all these stats in a double overtime game, and made more free throws than Minnesota’s entire team. And lost.

There is so much dumb in this post I don't know what to respond to.

The whole post is factual so that’s probably your problem.

I still sometimes reflexively think of Denver as a big 2 with Murray but this is a good reminder that Murray’s career basically fell off as soon as Jokic became Superman.

It's not even remotely true dumbass. Even if you want to use advanced metrics because you don't like the fact of how much better Jokic's rebounding, assists, fg% and 3pt% stats make him look better, use advanced.

Just make sure you mention that with advanced stats Jokic has a higher offensive rating, defensive rating, EFG%, and true Shooting %.

Gtfo trying to act like someone won't call your bs just because you say "advanced stats".

Kind of comical that you use free throws to discredit stats when Shai is 2nd in the league in free throw attempts and more per game than Jokic.

I really like Shai and would 100% be pulling for them in a series vs Denver but you sound like an absolute dumbass with that argument. There's an argument to be made for him to be the MVP, you just don't know how to make it.

Murray has never quite been the same after he tore his ACL. He had two 50 point games in one playoff series in the bubble, then tore his ACL the next season and lost most of his burst.

I exaggerated by saying he leads in all advanced metrics, he leads in most though.

My argument is that he leads Jokic in most advanced metrics and he plays defense unlike Jokic. Not a crazy argument at all.

Jokic’s PER is 2 points higher than SGA’s. The advanced stats argument doesn’t hold weight at all.

SGA will win MVP and it’s one of the better PG seasons of all time. But your argument is wrong on all counts lol. He plays on the deepest team in the league (genuinely one of the deepest teams maybe ever?), and is the best player in the league at getting to the free throw line. He’ll win bc of fatigue and yes, hes a better defender than Jokic. But Jokic has won a few of these obviously and the season he’s currently having is objectively as good as any of them, if not better.

I still put Jordan ahead of him.

But after that, It’s really difficult to argue that he isn’t the best player that’s ever played in the NBA.

Jokic doesn’t just rebound better than a guard… he is 3rd in rebounding and tied for 2nd in defensive rebounds… which means he’s better than everyone in NBA at that except for 2 other individuals

I’m saying that should count for something bc defensive rebounds is a defensive stat… (hard for you to understand though I can tell…)

Just like the fact he’s going to be top 3 in points, rebounds, assists, steals when no one’s even been top 5 in all those categories at once…

Maybe your smooth brain can’t understand it though. Which is understandable
