After watching that 1st period, I believe anyone saying this is a “glorified” whatever...is wrong. This is intense and a true champion will be crowned.

How humid is Toronto? Humidity kills ice in arenas.

Agreed. These guys are well rested and have months of built up energy. They're ready to go and we'll probably see the best playoffs ever as a result.

Remember, a regular SCP is as much a war of attrition as anything and by the time you get to the finals it's not the best hockey. It's a series of chipping pucks deep and banging away.

These playoffs are going to be something different if only because the players are well rested.

Gonna be fun no matter what happens. And if we lose we have a chance at a generational talent.

I think it could be the most fair playoffs ever. Referees are definitely swayed by the home crowd to some degree.

Hockey is great
I knew they could have the crowd noise and music going making it feel like a real game

Still hate Carolina for taking the Whale

Cool that we get the goal horns and songs for both teams.

The fake crowd noise is fricking annoying and feels Emrick is talking in a seashell. I can barely here him. Its a distraction. I want to hear the player communication on the ice.

Agreed.

I watched a Wild prelim game this week from the bubble on FSN. No crowd noise pumped in. It was nice to hear everything. The crowd noise is unnecessary and distracting because it's phony.

Good gracious Chicago

Edmonton needs a PP or get Leon and McDavid on same line to get a score

I like Crawford’s new paint job

So are all the games today being played throughout various ice rinks in Edmonton? Are the announcers calling the games from home or NBC studios?

I don't know about the announcers. I think the east is playing in Toronto at the Leafs stadium. That doesn't seem like the best bubble scenario.
