I recommend you avoid watching late season American sports at the team don’t have a winning record then because there are plenty teams trying to lose

I have quit watching the NBA about a decade ago. Part of the reason was players sitting games out. Really haven't followed MLB closely in at least that long. When I did watch (the Cubs on cable), you could usually argue they were always losing, so I never saw them tank.

For NFL games, sitting the starters in the final game, doesn't bug me as much. Either they're good and going to the playoffs and you don't want your QB taking hits, or they're bad and you're looking at bench guys to see what you have. The TEAM might not be putting their best players on the field, but the guys out there were busting their asses trying to make an impression.

Funny side note, the Saints always drop a few draft slots at the end of the year, because if they are "tanking", they do it poorly and win a few games.

Gambling- the biggest payout potential is in big games, not finishing the string out.

Not really relevant to this thread but this analyst just announced on Twitter that he (Matt Miller) got in a crazy car accident and they had to amputate his arm to save his life

Was he trying to kill himself? He went across the lane and hit a truck head on.

The timing of the campaign’s closing, first noted by ProFootballTalk, came just hours after the Missouri Attorney General’s Office announced it was opening an investigation into Miller following several complaints regarding his use of funds as a fantasy football commissioner, as well as questions regarding his prior public charity efforts.

Apparently he was the commissioner of 91 fantasy football leagues and stole all the money.

Sit out a year, enter the 2027 Draft, do everything you can to prove to teams you are “recovered”

Exactly this. Make a vlogcast of you training and working with other players doing the same. Don't try to be too much of a personality because nobody needs that shite.

Watching the Miller story unfold has been hilarious. That he turned his arm amputation into an additional Go-Fund me scam is top notch.
Doubt he was trying to off himself. The wall weren't closing in that bad just because people had started to email ESPN corporate about their money. It doesn't seem like he should be in the hole that much over the fantasy scams. But if he was and he immediately pivoted to the go fund me scam the dude is next level.

Timing seems odd, it happen hours after the Missouri AG announced he was opening an investigation. 91 leagues x 12 players, with some buy-ins at $500, we are looking at around 250k-300k he stole.

The AG investigation came about this week. Beforehand, he didn't have to come up with the money for all of them. Just the most urgent. He's way more fricked now since ESPN kinda has to sideline him and he's a known scammer so nobody can hire him.

Canadian Football League is an option
ESPN
Supposedly the CFL is telling teams they can’t sign him due the gambling concerns.
