I don’t understand why you’re struggling with this. He saw a pick play happen, so he threw the flag. They huddled and deemed that the contact happened within a yard of the line of scrimmage, making it a legal play. Are you saying that he should ignore what he saw in case the contact happened within a yard? That’s not how officiating works.
