Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Now do pre draft screening, it's an understandable precaution but most of these guys come from rough upbringings. For every AH there are tons of guys who get the frick out of the hood and provide a better life for themselves and their family.

I'm down with this. Maybe they can inform team management and it will allow them to weigh the risks of carrying a certain guy on their roster, and it could definitely open their eyes as to what to look out for and how to help a guy create space between his former affiliations.

Funny how people call NBA players thugs because of tats, cornrows, rap played at games. I see the same shite in the NFL, said it was a thug league loooong ago. Now people want to talk about NFL players tats

People so very rarely use the term "thug" to describe white people.

I think the extent of the pre-draft screening is asking players questions in which they can basically say what they think the coaches want to hear.

Cast and point: did Aaron Hernandez disclose his involvement with crime in college? Doubtful.

Do you think Manti Te'o was going to say his gf wasn't ever real/he is a closet homosexual? Probably not.

Meh.

Just an additional step in the background check process. If you have gang tats, you get further scrutiny.

In Los Angeles guy was convicted of a 2004 homicide because his gang tattoo basically admitted his involvement in a murder.

I think because you are an NBA prospect at a much earlier age, you're seeing these NBA guys being less thug. Still uneducated and lacking proper financial responsibility but they're not dangerous.

You might not be an NFL prospect until you're 21, by that time you might have already spent time running with gangs
