That would greatly enhance player safety at a ton of the high collision positions...let qbs and kickers play as long as they want but other players need to be restricted to like 6 years or so.

They should also be forced to document all concussions from college on and if a player exceeds a certain number they have to retire.

I don't want to see another guy end up like seau or mike webster. Enough is enough

I sometimes wonder if you have been lobotomized.

How about those who are worried about brain injuries simply not play from here on out? I'd gladly risk a couple concussions for a couple million per year and a rock star lifestyle.

Would never happen. Basically taking away millions because they have bad luck.

WTF not everything is equal. Some players are "at risk" after 1 season. Some aren't "at risk" until their 17th season.

It's just not practical.

You can't put a year on it.. Every player is different.. every situation is different.

Again there are continuing efforts to prevent injuries, including equipment changes. Lets at least see more studying and if this is improving.

Your heart is in the right place but these guys are kind of modern day gladiators... They choose their profession just like a police officer, fireman, or military serviceman.

The only difference is they are paid handsomely and their job is less dangerous than the previous ones mentioned.

They can stop playing anytime they want.

The players know what they signed up for and get paid millions to do it. If they want to switch places with me I would gladly take a concussion for 1/4 the salary these guys make.

With that said, a concussion quota rule would work great IMO

I dont think you would. I've seen people on the downside. They dont even remember the money or the lifestyle. Just anger and depression

Players know the risks of playing football now. If they want to take the risk of more concussions by playing longer than that's on them

The only way that would work is with a lifetime pension beginning the year after retirement at their current salary level.

that would violate the civil rights act of 1964, would it not? Age discrimination?

This would definitely cause a strike at the very least
