NFL RB with the most dominant back-to-back years?

I’d have to go with Priest Holmes 2003-2004. He was an unstoppable TD machine. He could do it all. Dude ran so violent for being 5’9”.
Priest 51 TDs in 2 years, 4300 yds from scrimmage. And he misses 2 games.
Eric Dickerson first 2 years were pretty unreal.

I'd go with Ladainian Tomlinson.

Earl Campbell '79-'80 ran for 3,631 yards, the latter season he averaged 129 yards a game.

Surprised you started the topic with Priest and don’t mention Larry Johnson's two years following him.

Riggins 82 and 83. Carried the team to a Championship in 82 with 4 straight 100 yard games, including an iconic game winning run. Record setting 83 season where he led the team to another SB appearance. All while in his 30s. Put him in the HOF..

Jim Brown, Pick your years. Probably 57 and 58.

Odd since 2002 and 2003 were both great years
2002 - 1683 yards rushing and 79 receptions for 489 yards
2003 - 1645 yard rushing and 100 receptions for 725 yards
If you run the math on that he averaged 142 yards a game running and receiving over the course of those 2 seasons
He also lead the AFC in total receptions in 2003 and was 4th overall in the league in total receptions

I don't know if any back could really match his total value from 2002 to 2007
Over that time period he averaged 4.6 YPC, 98 yard rushing per game and roughly 4 receptions for 30 yards each game
Essentially 130 yards from scrimmage every game averaged out over a 6 year stretch where he didn't miss a single game
That's absurd

Apparently this only matters for QBs.

Eric Dickerson had 1808 & 2105 in '83 & '84. That deserves mention.

Seems like. Why don't people ever factor in playoffs stats or results?

Led the league in rushing every year of his career but one as I recall.
Jim Taylor was the only guy to beat him out.

In terms of being a workhorse and touches, he’s the king. I think he had close 500 touches one year. But in terms of production, Priest was better.
