Per sources, one anthem idea being discussed: Leaving it up to home team on whether teams come out for the anthem; if teams do come out for the anthem, potential that teams could be assessed 15-yard penalties for kneeling.

Surprised it took them this long, NBA already had this rule in place for 20 years prior to all the massive reaction to Kaep’s protest, NFL probably consists of the most backward leadership of all the sports leagues always reactive never proactive to literally everything

What if they go to the midfield for the coin toss, take a knee and start singing the anthem?

How does that work anyway?

Unsportsmanlike conduct, #7, visiting team...unsportsmanlike conduct, #90, home team. Those penalties offset. Ball will be placed at the 35 yard line.

Also wondering how they enforce this. How do you fine the team if they can't punish the players? And if you can punish the players why not just do that?

Goodell is an idiot.

Just don't have the players out on the field for the Anthem, like they used to do and still do in College.

Problem solved, the end.

And risk missing this?

So teams like the Saints that kneel as a team before the anthem, but stood to respect the flag during the anthem would not be affected by this rule?

If fans constantly play the anthem from their phones, they could never kneel imo.
