Wrong but keep being stupid

Army
BYU

Don’t want to be in conferences for football. They left conferences to become Indy. But you can’t figure this out

Liberty will end up in the SBC. UMass is just like NMSU out of luck

BYU isn’t leaving their independent status

This

BYU is near the end of negotiations with ESPN for their new TV contract. The money part is pretty much done, now they are working on which bowl games.
BYU is looking to fill in the spots if the Big10 or SEC don't fill their bowl slots, but aren't looking at their bottom end bowl slots.

You know all those can’t happen? They’re tied into a bowl already. But people don’t get that and Army are tied into bowls if they’re eligible which is another reason they won’t join a conference

bc i was referring to BYU

if that could be Navy's bowl lineup (in terms of equivalents), they'd leave the AAC too

i do think Army and Navy should ramp up their schedules. they'd probably suck every year but they have the big game against each other and whoever wins wouldn't care that they were 2-10

what bowl? bc it's stupid to be tied into the same bowl for going 10-2 or even 11-1 if you don't make the NY6 and possibly going 6-6

Hawai’i Bowl which is perfect for them as it gets them to big area of Mormons and recruiting base. Plus it’s a destination for them

Army was in San Diego but they have a new one I believe

that bowl really depends on Hawaii being bowl eligible lol

but yeah a 7-5 team should be happy to go there. a 10-2 or 11-1 team should be pissed.

Incorrect because payouts are already determined and BYU has a built in fan base already on the islands

No they won’t. They already were rejected by the Sun Belt and the CUSA despite offering way more than the required admission fee.

The Sun Belt commissioner has said numerous times they have no interest in expanding, and the schools have no interest in leaving their geographic footprint.

Liberty’s only hope to get in a FBS conference is if the CUSA’s cash situation becomes so bad, they have no choice but to add them.

Just read an article suggesting the possibility of a new Football only conference with UConn leaving the AAC. Could this be an option for the remaining FBS independents?

Why do they need a conference? They would not get shite for a media deal as a conference. Each school already has a media deal as a school and a bowl tie-in (except for UCONN).

Not to mention, NMSU and BYU being in a conference where all of the other schools are in Virginia, Maryland and the northeast makes even less sense geographically than West Virginia in the Big 12 and without nearly the same financial benefit

Those schools don't need to form a conference. They could easily form a loose scheduling alliance to fill in the gaps if their independent schedule. No need to lock themselves in.
