Grbac was a solid QB at the time. It was an easy decision. Dilfer was really bad.

I didn't realize this was filmed a month before Siragoosa died. He sure does tell some good stories.

Rams defense was awful that year. I doubt they would have made it to the Super Bowl if Hakim doesn't fumble the punt. They would have had to beat 2 other NFC teams on the road to get there. I know the Rams beat the Giants on the road in the regular season. But I wouldn't trust them to do it again in the playoffs with that soft defense.

A lot of those guys were made for TV. They certainly had some brash players that knew how to back up everything they said. I liked the story that Siragoosa let Davis hear about that extra $50000 after the AFC Championship Game.

IDK....I think winning a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer at QB is pretty amazing.

IIRC, and not looking it up, that Bears/Dolphins matchup in ‘85 was a BIG DEAL.

This was back when MNF was legit and a big deal.

The Bears were like 13-0 or something.

Pretty sure the game was home for Miami.

No way Miami was going to lose that game. The W was to preserve ‘72 (?) Dolphin perfection.

Going off memory.

2000 Ravens Super Bowl champs faced (in playoffs):

1. Gus Frerotte
2. Steve McNair (legit QB)
3. Rich Gannon
4. Kerry Collins

We should make a documentary about these four hall of fame QB’s being stopped back to back to back to back.

There were always rumors Gregg Williams had stolen our playbook during the 99 season and former Titan Blaine Bishop admitted that they did on his Nashville radio show today.

Gannon was the better QB at that time. Not even close

Broncos were #2 that year in both scoring and total offense.

They would’ve faced the Vikings the following week who they owned since the divisional game in ‘99. Yeah, the defense was awful, but it took a muff punt for NO to advance.

And the Giants didn’t face Warner and Faulk in the October game. Again, even with the Swiss cheese D, I think the Rams would’ve pulled it off. 2000 Giants are probably the worst SB participant of the past three decades.

2000 Giants were 12-4. They had the #5 defense. And gave the worse beatdown in the NFC Championship Game I can ever remember. They beat the 11-5 Eagles 3 times that year. The Giants secondary shut down McNabb every game that year. And Warner was very turnover prone that season. Giants run defense was no slouch, so Faulk would have had his hands full. They definitely were not the weakest Super Bowl participant in the last 3 decades. In my opinion, that team was better than their 2007 and 2011 team that won.

And the Rams would have had to go on the road to beat the Vikings before the Giants. Culpepper and Moss were impossible to stop until they met the Giants a week later. The Rams run defense was awful that year. So the Vikings running game would have posed a big challenge. Smith ran for 1500 yards that year. I know the Rams beat both those teams in the regular season. But I wouldn't trust them at all to replicate that success on the road against either team.
