Between constantly getting stuck w/11am kickoffs and their next TV deal potentially being a dud I think we can probably assume OU is going to abandon Okie Light and be SEC bound within 5 years.

It is a little surprising they wouldn't get a better time slot. When is the last time they played?

It's not exactly LSU/Auburn, but I think nostalgia alone will bring a large audience.

Actually it wouldn't.

Fox gets first pick and they have made 12pm EST their prime time slot. All their biggest games are at noon b/c of it. They are putting Oregon at Ohio State at noon too.

This is directly b/c of Fox avoiding the CBS mid day slot and ABC night time slot.

lol even the old Jefferson Pilot games and TBS games the SEC had back in the day were at least 11:30

which aint saying much if you are going to the game.

To me this isn't a bad thing if you have no plans to attend it.

That's the thing though. They have constantly been getting 11am games for alike a decade now and they are sick of it. Their donors and fan base hate it. It screws up their recruiting b/c it makes it harder for potential recruits to make it to the game, it screws up the town's economy b/c people go out to eat/booze less for morning games, and in this specific case it messes up all their plans to have celebrations for the game being the 50th anniversary of the NU/OU Game of the Century.

Neb is a terrible football program. Not sure why OU is mad.

Not really all that surprising to me. OU will be up 30 by halftime. I can see the logic in not wanting it in a better slot.

Removing their fluke 13-2 win over Florida State in the 2000 natty, Oklahomo has been an 11 a.m. kickoff school for decades now.

11:21

And OU plays Texas every year at 11 am. That’s their time.

OSU/Michigan is always at noon. It's not an issue

IiRC, Nebraska-Oklahoma used to be on around 1:30 the day after Thanksgiving back in the day.

That extra hour makes a pretty big difference.

11am games would suck.

Noon games are less than optimal.

The Oklahoma legislature won’t allow OU and OSU to be split up athletically. OU already tried in 1995 and again in 2010.

They should have issued a simple, “Thanks, Nebraska.”
