Any of you make it down to gulf shores for the tournament? I love that they expanded the field to 16 teams. Growing up we often had to travel 8-10 hours to find quality beach volleyball tournaments. I absolutely love seeing this sport continuing to grow. I think I’m going to make the trip next year.

They aren’t in micro bikinis. Just athletes playing a sport that takes a lot of skill and conditioning.

You’re going to have to travel to Long Beach if you want to watch it next year. Moving the championships to Cali.

I dig beach volleyball. I wish it was on more. I don't know who the AVP has TV contracts with anymore.

I wished I lived closer to the events. I was just watching a replay just now of the Austin Open. I could watch April Ross all day and night.

Amen sister! The appeal of the sport has nothing to do with what they wear. Hell, my partner and I are usually just wearing flannel shirts or Atlanta Dream jerseys when we tune in and glue our eyes to the tv.

I’m starting to think people on here don’t realize college beach volleyball isn’t played in swimsuits? That they have uniforms?

I was in GS last year during the tournament because my kid was playing in a big beach tournament at the same time just to the west of the venue. Great juniors event with about 40 nets going.

There was obviously a lot of excitement with the NCAA at the time because LSU was a contender. I couldn't get in because the attendance was restricted a lot because of Covid. I still was able to peak in from a side fence and watch some. I love watching that stuff. I've been following Kristen Nuss and her partner Taryn(former LSU girls) since then when they are on livestream.

Come down to the Nola area at the end of May and check out the AVP tournament. There will be some big names and it's a blast out there.

I think you’re starting to realize “people on here” don’t care

Coconut Beach used to be one of my favorite places to play. Hated going to New Orleans though, even in the 90’s. Usually ended up seeing the locals at fudpuckers every year too.
