If we don’t make the CFP next year AND McMahon doesn’t make the tournament then I doubt the money men left him choose another coach.

McMahon will be fired the second Will Wade is hired somewhere. Fat Scott is such a pussy.
I don't think that's happening, homey. MM is gonna be back for at least a year... Er, half a year before he gets the axe.

Would be a great hire for the ACC

He belongs at an elite blue blood school, he 's too good for LSU

I mean he is. Not sure why this is debatable. He is a good coach.

He’s coming home in 2026
Sorry, NC St

Will Wade is another in a long list of college coaches who get incredibly hyped at mid-major programs and can't cut it at the next level. He only wins when he has vastly superior talent. It's clear his recruiting was only good at LSU because he was cheating, and he accomplished almost nothing. McNeese spent more on NIL than the rest of the SLC combined. NC State ain't outspending the ACC. He has made the Sweet 16 once in 9 years as a head coach.
Some day the purple and gold tinted glasses will fade on this board.

Everyone point and laugh at the retard.
Will Wade has won a conference title at VCU, LSU, and McNeese (throw in a runner up at (Chattanooga).
You don’t win at that many games just rolling the ball out.

McNeese is the only place he has won a conference tournament, and has had to win a total of 4 games to do it. So 2 conference regular season titles in 9 years previously is extremely mid.
Don't get it twisted, I don't think he is a bad coach, but he is nothing special.

I wish LSU had elite talent again.

Wade deniers are 10x fricking stupider than the fans who can’t move on from him.

1000%. He did what he needed to do to be competitive at LSU, pay players under the table, he just did it in a completely stupid manner. He then went to McNeese and spent stupid amounts of NIL by SLC standards. I give him tons of credit for recruiting AND getting boosters to put up money. I don't think that plays out in a P4 where he won't be spending on the level that the top schools in the conference are.
It's not all or nothing, he is solid in some areas (maybe even bordering elite in terms of recruiting and fundrasising) and average in others (on court coaching and producing results).
According to On3 the highest NIL valued player at NC State comes in at #73. Players at Austin Peay, UCA, and FAMU have higher valuations. Wade will likely get them better players next season from some hype, but it won't be like playing UNO when you have Shumate and Wells.

Please tell me, in your vast experience as a college basketball recruiter, how Will Wade was supposed to recruit in a different manner?
Don't forget to add in which LSU players the NCAA found were illegally recruited or given impermissable benefits.
You know what? I'll save you the trouble. In a 3 year long investigation, the NCAA found no evidence that Will Wade gave any LSU player impermissable benefits. The only dirt the NCAA could dig up was a disgruntled ex-girlfriend from a previous school blackmailed Will Wade into giving her a pay day.

But most importantly, he's a winner. Until he goes somewhere and doesn't win, we have to assume he will continue winning.
