NBC twisting the knife

quote:

Auburn, the top college basketball team in the country, was called first on Selection Sunday. A few moments later it was Texas A&M’s turn. Then Ole Miss. Then Mississippi State. By the full reveal of the 2025 NCAA Tournament’s bracket, 10 more SEC schools would be named.

The conference has 16 programs — and an unprecedented 14 made into the NCAA Tournament, including four of the top eight teams in the bracket. The aforementioned Tigers, Florida, Tennessee and Alabama were all seeded No. 1 or No. 2.

As March Madness heats up, I'm getting more and more bitter feeling left out of the party.

I guess the silver lining is that they don't mention LSU by name, but the embarrassment has officially entered the national news level.

McMahon should've been fired after the SEC tournament. He will go down as the first basketball coach since Press Maravich to not make the NCAA tournament and, possibly, an overall losing record. The program has become an embarrassment.

Once again, NBC is late to the party.

But 8 out of 10 LSU fans will say “lol don’t care baseball szn!”

Next year is gonna be just as bad with even less support.

Our manufactured draconian sanctions have set us back a few years.

Will Wade will be in the final four before McMahon.

We will never win it all w him as our coach- Musk doesn't have enough NIL money to make it happen (unless he pays people to stop playing for othe schools)

Bruh. If there's ever been a more accurate response... lol.

BTW: This was originally posted on Tiger Rant but I guess it hit too close to home. I understand moving it to More Sports but for the record, it deserves to be seen by Tiger fans to let it sting. You should be mad. Take your medicine.

And to the LSU baseball fans, I get it. I love baseball too... IN APRIL! All SEC schools also play baseball, but 14 out of 16 won't be really checking in for the next several weeks. Many of them will be competitive. We can't even put that feather in our cap anymore.

Just saying... Stay fired up about this. It's worth it. This is some bullshite.

Is college basketball utter shite this year because in a normal year I don't see UK being a 3 seed or Arky making the tourney.

Why did we decline the NIT? Do we think we don't need the additional play time to improve?

Or, try this one out, there’s no sense in taking any sporting event so serious so as to be mad over it.

I think it's more the fact that we don't expect to see anyone back.

McMahon may return; I know he got the vote of confidence but I could still see LSU letting him go after this season. But I doubt we see any of the players come back. They came, and were brought in, to make this team competitive and a tourney team. Those who are good will likely move to a better program, those who are not good won't be invited back if we have any viable options to replace them.
And to go with that, as I said above, McMahon may also be gone too. So "his guys" would then be gone.

So no, there's no reason to play, there's nothing to improve.
