As mentioned earlier

When the Brooklyn Nets played at the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 17th, Kyrie Irving lit some sage in their locker room before the game. Irving does this on occasion and his history in Cleveland could have contributed to the ritual. According to sources who were in the locker room at the time, Harden looked at Irving in a perplexed way. “Definitely a weird vibe between them,” one source said. “You could tell Harden was annoyed, and Kyrie wasn’t feeling James.” Harden also appeared to be annoyed by Irving's status as a part time player when asked by the media. “I’mma give him the shot,” Harden once joked of Irving.

Lol why? The picks and secondary players were not even close to what the original tweet said.

Simmons can be a primary ball handler and set up Kyrie and Durant. Certainly improves the Nets’ defense given they’ll be going up against guys like Giannis in the playoffs.

But the Big 3, when actually playing together, were still title contenders. Damn near beat the Bucks without Kyrie last year. I def wouldn’t pick either team to win a championship now, though.

A toe on the line from beating them, with basically only Durant. Harden was on one leg. Probably the best series of Durant’s career and that’s saying something, given the 17 finals.

Kyrie is sapping up all of the salary that would go to a proper supporting cast for a 2 superstar squad

Exactly what else would you have traded for with a $30+ million player that barely plays?

Legler said it best:
LINK

You found someone to take a $30 million contract off your hands for two much more manageable contracts, and if Dinwiddie gives you some offense when Luka gets a breather and that offense turns stagnant, great. If not, you can deal away that contract later on down the road.

Also, Brunson is a free agent this offseason and is going to get paid, so Dinwiddie may be a fail safe if things go south in those negotiations.

They need to Bertans on Doncic's weight management plan and he should be fine soon hopefully

I wouldn't have traded him for garbage arse players w/garbage arse contracts. If that's all the Mavs could get they were better off keeping him and hoping he stays healthy for the playoffs.

SD has been in the NBA for 8 years now and has had exactly 1 good season. He can't shoot for shite and has been awful since his injury issues started. He'll end up missing just as many games as KP and is a far less impactful player.

Bertans got fat and can't shoot anymore. His contract is atrocious. He doesn't defend. He hasn't played well since he got his big arse deal and odds are he is going to struggle to even get on the gameday roster.

Now instead of having one player who has real on court value that another team might be willing to accept the risk of his injury issues the Mavs have two negative assets who will barely play w/contracts that are so bad the Mavs are going to have to give up even more draft picks to have and shot at offloading them.

Definitely the strangest deal of the day. My Mavs fan friends were hoping Dinwiddie was a piece to then be traded for someone else but it never materialized.

With how much you're shitting on Dinwiddie and Bertans just further shows how much real "on court value" Porzingis has. Porzingis was shooting 28 percent from three when he found his way onto the court, which is even less than Dinwiddie on the same number of attempts per game, one of the main reasons they got him. Also, it's not just "on court value," you're paying $30+ million for what he barely did on the court.

Yeah, I admitted Bertans got fat, if he focuses on that, maybe you get that 40-percent three-point shooter again. He doesn't play defense? Did you watch Porzingis this season? You're not missing much there. If not, he's making $16 million a year. Throw a second-round pick (someone who would get traded or cut anyway the way we draft) onto him and ship him out as well. Same goes for Dinwiddie and his contract

The fact you would even think Donnie did anything besides sit hit fat arse down at all-you-can-eat buffets says something. They should have gotten rid of him years earlier than they actually did.

I wanted Porzingis to work, but the guy isn't even a shell of what he once was. At least there's a chance with these two, who will be a on much better team now than that wasteland in D.C.

Actually it shows that Cuban is a terrible de facto GM.

Dinwiddie is shooting 37% from the floor this year and is career 31% from 3 as a guard. That fricking awful and after 8 years in the NBA it's clear he's never going to get better at shooting.

Even w/KP's 3s not falling this year he's still putting up 19/7.7/2 on 45% shooting overall and career wise he is a 35% shooter from 3 putting up 35% and 37% for the Mavs the last two years.

Also, once you take out his missed games for COVID protocols SD has only played 3 more games than KP so it's not like he is some sort of iron man replacement.

He couldn't get into good enough shape during the season to play for a god awful team like Washington so I don't know why you'd think he can do it here where he's AT BEST the 4th big in the rotation. Also odd how you shite all over KPs 3 point shooting for this year but forgive Bertans.

Here is where I really have to question if you know what you are watching when you watch the Mavs b/c Dallas has 100% better a better defensive squad by a noticeable margin when KP is on the floor this year. This isn't even a question as the team's defensive reating falls off a cliff when KP is out so for to compare the complete void that is Bertans to what KP does protecting the rim... man I don't know what you are watching.

Great so throw away picks just because they haven't always worked out. Brilliant. Brunson and to a lesser degree Green have been very important this year but let's just toss some picks away to move awful contracts for guys nobody wants.
