I've never understood the fascination with March Madness. NBA playoffs is much better basketball, games are usually always close and down to wire. And the best team advances always, unlike college basketball. IDGAF that it lasts so long. Where amazing happens
You must lead a miserable life

Too predictable. It's simply boring.
who wants to see the same teams in the conference finals every year? apparently a lot of people. outside of the usual suspects, nobody has a chance to make a run in the playoffs in a 7 game series
The same thing could be said about college football. The SEC has won seven national championships in a row with Florida, LSU, and Bama winning six of those seven national championships. Going back further, there were teams like Nebraska winning three out of four national championships, Miami winning four national championships in eight years, and Florida State finishing in the top for 14 consecutive years. In any given year, there are rarely more than seven or eight teams with a legitimate chance to win a national championship. I don't see anybody here complaining about the predictability of college football. I like seeing dominant teams at the top like the Heat, Lakers, Bama FB, Florida FB, LSU FB, etc... It's a better alternative to the shitstew of mediocrity known as the NFL.

I kind of agree. But lets not pretend the current bowl system is a good one in college football.
NFL playoffs>>>>>>>>>>>> CFB Bowls.
damn near every bowl game I watched this year was a pathetic display. Just look at the National Title game, that is an excellent starting point.
some of the better bowls have lost some luster. The Sugar Bowl comes to mind there. I've been to several over the years and the crowds have gotten worse each year.

College football is pretty damn predictable at the moment. Of course SEC posters (the majority of posters here) aren't going to complain about it as I think most of us would take success for our favorite program over a more unpredictable and exciting sport. Also I think that the changing postseason format is helping to give some hope to programs in smaller conferences, which should quiet some criticism.
I can appreciate a great team, but I prefer parity. It's more entertaining imo, and sports are entertainment. Sports become boring when they become predictable, which is why I'll continue to root against the Heat, the Yankees, Kentucky and Duke basketball, etc.

Thing is, when there's true parity, the upsets aren't quite as meaningful. An upset today in CBB isn't nearly as jarring as it was when the super talented UNLV or UH squads went down back in the day.

I'm so glad someone made this thread, I couldn't agree more. As a general rule this is a good way of separating intelligent sports fans from pleibans. Who cares if it takes long? Do you have ADD? It's more great basketball. And I will never understand the value of unpredictability over the truly best team winning. Give me the EPL and the NBA over March Madness and the NFL playoffs anyday. Where the best team wins less than half the time
