But it looked like CP3 was legitimately trying to make it obvious that Harden needed to not be in any of their plays

Of course they were good. The offense they run is just difficult to defend with Capela, and the terrific ball handlers/passers Paul and Harden are in the PNR.

I can understand taking it that way looking at it in hindsight. At the time, I took it as CP3 was playing so freaking well, and so confident in his ability to score, that he was finally going to get to the Conference Finals on his own back. He didn't need anyone because he was that good.
