Commentators sucking SGA's dick balls deep.
The best part of the broadcast tonight was when Breen, RJ and Doris kept working in the fact that "some of those foul calls may not be fouls" or "you may not like SGA's style of play"
Even they know it's ridiculous

I disliked how they approached the topic. I’d prefer they just outright call flops what they are, if they think Shai is flopping.
The way they kept bringing it up while still taking this faintly apologetic stance just made it feel worse
And I know the Shaiters didn’t enjoy the weak attempts to defend it either. They tried to have it both ways, but as usual it served no one. As an OKC fan it felt like they were overshadowing Shai’s MVP night by constantly talking about the foul stuff, and I’m sure the haters felt it didn’t go far enough.
It’s okay to believe all these things… they’re all true after all:
• Shai is a great player
• Shai drives to the basket a lot and draws reasonable foul calls because of it
• Shai also tactically initiates contact or oversells it to get calls
• Shai has misplayed some possessions this series by trying too hard to fish for a call instead of just making plays
• Shai would still be a good (edited) player without that aspect of his game (statistically still the most efficient scorer in the league this year when adjusting for free throws)
The NBA needs to stop incentivizing flopping and whining for calls, simple as. We’ve all known that for over a decade now.

ESPN ran a post game segment with Windhorst court side last night talking about how big of a foul baiter SGA is. Some of the highlights were mentioning how if he feels any even slight contact he immediately flails and how if he sees a defenders foot extended he will intentionally run into it and fall down
Hilarious that the flopping is becoming the main narrative from this series. There's so much outrage and the ratings for the series have been so terrible that the league will probably make changes thankfully.

Can you imagine being 7' 1" and you can't play basketball for shite? Your life would be weird. People would constantly be asking you why aren't playing basketball and you'd have to say I really suck at it.

I think he would still be good against 90s NBA type defenses, but fair point that “elite” may be an overstatement.

Check out how many OKC players in league defensive ratings, its crazy great. 7 of top 10. Also not talked about is SGA plays defense.

“Wow. The Thunder are good on defense”…
Yes. One could say that. One of the most incredible stats I’ve ever seen
Every NBA player’s defensive & net ranking

I mean he IS flopping. Doris even said as much. She said the TWolves are rightfully frustrated because OKC has been able to be physical defensively with Denver and now Minnesota, and when the TWolves tried to the same, Shai gets the whistle.
SGA is a great player. He doesn't need to do that every time, but since he does, that's what the narrative will be with him.
Call it "hating" or whatever, but it's not pleasing basketball to watch.
It'll be interesting to see what happens now that the series has moved to Minnesota. You'd expect the Wolves to get calls or at least be allowed to be more physical at home. This series has sucked so far.

If it’s true that 40% of all 7 foot males in the US have played in the NBA… that means 60% haven’t, so it shouldn’t be a rare thing to find one that just has no interest or skill in basketball

We are all Pacers fans. They are doing it for the ghost of Jim Irsay.

Good god what a pass by Halliburton.

Theory: Do you think the refs assisted the Pacers in Game 1 so when they inevitably rig games and the series for the Knicks they can point to Game 1 as evidence it wasn't rigged

Coming from the guy who preemptively and without support says any team he’s pulling against will win because it’s rigged that’s some next level projection on your part.

The people want Indiana vs. OKC, and the people will get it. The NBA owes it to us.

Don't beat up nug too bad, there is a reason for the idiosyncratic posting.
