Collins is like a back up QB that just stays in the league riding the pine for millions.

Keeps managing to get paid lmao.

Well, he did choose Cleveland over Miami a few years later

He chose total control over being part of a team not Cleveland over Miami

Everyone knows the story, it was very public. He wanted total control of the franchise, Riley said no so he left.

Why would any competent front office want 35 y/o Kawhi at $50M? Did they miss all the games he missed in L.A?

Free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN. Rockets executives recruited Bogdanovic tonight and now land an established, playoff-tested shooter for his 10th NBA season.

Free agent guard Marcus Smart has agreed on a two-year, $13 million deal with the Houston Rockets, plus a player option for the second season, sources tell ESPN. The former Defensive Player of the Year reunites with Ime Udoka for significant opportunity in the Rockets backcourt.

If Detroit pays Duren $40 mil like he wants they will regret it imo.

They don’t have a center and just traded Stewart.

So the options appear to be:
A) Sign and trade with Sac for 30 YO Sabonis who makes $45M
B) let him walk and accept sliding back in a much tougher east (healthy Boston, Toronto, maybe even Miami) without a competitive front court
C) sign him for $40M and hope he continues to develop and learn at age 22 from the playoff disaster. My real question is did he quit or mentally checkout in the playoffs with the intent of leaving via FA?

wonder if they’re really shutting down trade talks for AD or is this a “you need pay up more” shut down trade talk? AD could try to force his way out especially to GS.

All these half broken down big names making massive money are being talked about like they’re still prime versions of themselves that you can build around.

The NBA is so odd.

John Collins going to Detroit for 3/$51 mil. Potential spurs target is gone along with Wade.

Lakers and Detroit seem to be in a bidding war for Duren. I guess the team that does can use Kessler as a backup?

Projected starting lineup for them now is what?

-Garland
-Dick
-Mathurin
-Ingram
-John Collins

If Dick is starting over Wagler then LFrank needs to be tossed into the Pacific

This is pretty much the closing of the era brought on by the 2018/2019 summers. Definitely a weaker run in the leagues history which is a shame considering the run brought on by the 2014 summer was probably one of the stronger ones in league history

But still was a fun time to follow. Insane to look back on the 2019 FA thread we had on here which was probably the best thread this board has ever had

Vucevic -- who started his career in Orlando as a sophomore, spent nearly nine years with the Magic and has maintained a home there since -- turned down more lucrative offers elsewhere to reunite with the franchise.

Free agent center Ariel Hukporti has agreed to a one-year, $3.4 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN. Hukporti departs the Knicks after playing a reserve role on their title team, and gives the 76ers frontcourt depth and a high-motor, athletic big man.
