Buzz in league circles continues to connect Rui Hachimura signing with the Spurs once free agency opens tonight.
Los Angeles is on the verge of losing all the following players on the open market, even with tons of cap space:
LeBron James
Rui Hachimura
Marcus Smart
Luke Kennard

Deandre Ayton probably feeling like a fool for opting in now

Eh. Lakers are trying to shed as much salary as possible to get a legitimate center and make some upgrades defensively. They "have" space in a vacuum but are up against it when you consider what they are trying to do

You can blame Pelinka all you want but Lebrons contract was what was holding that team back.

Last night we reported the Lakers' rising interest in Toronto free agent Sandro Mamukelashvili.
Now league sources tell @JakeLFischer and me that Philadelphia's Quentin Grimes is emerging as another top Lakers target.

I don't think Ayton cares enough to feel anything. Dude is the eptimoee of "just here to collect a check".

BREAKING: The Los Angeles Clippers are nearing deal sending Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, 2 first-round picks, 1 pick swap and 2 second-rounders, sources tell ESPN. A return to Canada for the Raptors champion and two-time Finals MVP.

Lol I swear this is the positively absolutely the last pick OKC has left over from that PG13 trade

Nice. Now lets make the move for Brown
Posted on 6/30/26 at 2:53 pm to OU Guy
I think it's definitely the right move for the Clippers but this still doesn't give them immediate cap space because Ingram is owed $40M right?.
Admittedly, I haven't paid much attention to Toronto. Is Grady Dick any good? I know he's a spacer, but is he a key player on a playoff team in the West?
Projected starting lineup for them now is what?
-Garland
-Dick
-Mathurin
-Ingram
-John Collins
SDV, what's your "way too soon" prediction for where ya'll fit into the West next season?

I think you guys just traded away the assets that Boston would've wanted. I think this trade all but takes Clips out of the Brown sweepstakes.

Collins is hopefully going to be a Spur in 2 hours. But Clips probably have more money to spend than we do now.

Kinda wild the Raptors gave up more for 35 year old Kawhi Leonard than 27 year old Kawhi Leonard.
Raptors gave up this for 35-year-old Kawhi:
Brandon Ingram
Gradey Dick
2 firsts
1 swap
2 seconds
Raptors gave up this for 27-year-old Kawhi:
DeMar DeRozan
Jakob Pöltl
1 first (Keldon Johnson)
Obviously, the circumstances are different. Leonard after the 2017-18 season had a lot of uncertainty with a weird injury and he wasn't committing to sign anywhere but Los Angeles. Leonard now is coming off a healthy, dominant individual season and fully committed to extending in Toronto.
Still, I don't think anyone could have seen things playing out this way when the Kawhi trade happened in 2018. No chance.

I wonder if they’re really shutting down trade talks for AD or is this a “you need pay up more” shut down trade talk?
AD could try to force his way out especially to GS.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are showing interest in LeBron James, per @sam_amick
“What's more, the Warriors do not appear to have clarity yet regarding James' plans. Cleveland and Miami are often cited as realistic landing spots as well, and the Minnesota Timberwolves are known to have interest if he felt like shocking the basketball world with that sort of move.”
