If that is your thought process, the Hill signing is the worst in all of free agency so far.

Bazemore was the 2nd best 3 & D SF after Batum available this summer. You are like the only person I have seen that doesn't understand this deal.

looks like we'd have to dump Thabo, Splitter, Scott, and would have to dump Korver to make it work w/ Al and keep Millsap.

Would be completely fine with that. That would be best case scenario. Hate to get rid of Korver, but if it's between him and Al, I pick Al.

If that happens, we have no bench. I hope they can play about 44 minutes a night.

Houston will be clutch city when you are dead and gone from this earth. They earned the name and will carry it forever. Jordan can't dunk anymore. But he will always be air Jordan. Regardless of what happens going forward HOU is clutch city.

he played 800 more minutes than he ever had and went from a 9.4 to 13.7 i think he keeps improving as he sees more minutes

Plus his defense has gone from good to close to lockdown

I think it's more of trying to justify paying Hill more than anything.

I'm surprised this argument is still going on. Would take Bazemore way before I even thought about Hill

To be fair to Hill he improved his PER each year he's played and shot .03 percent worse than the league average from three last year.

And the year he played the most minutes with PG13 out he had zero help so guys just sagged off him and dared him to shoot.

And he STILL shot over 50 percent from inside the arc. With a whack jumper. He develops his shot and he's a good get for us. Besides, we need defense more than anything else.

I really hope we can keep him, but he's probably our sexiest salary dump.

I've already said I like Hill. He was one of the guys I wanted the Grizz to go after. It was a slight overpay, but one that it is worth it for the Pels.

I've actually been a big of the Pels summer, which shocks me because I usually hate every move they've made post drafting AD.

Agreed.

Dwight knows that he's still an excellent rebounder and despite popular opinion, when playoff basketball rolls around, he's the opposite of soft. He goes out there and averages 20/12. The big gripe about ATL is that their BIGS were only bigs. Howard brings interior defense and a knack for rebounds.

Sort of reminds me of what SVG did with Dwight in Orlando

Check my posts from earlier today on Pels talk. Hours before we signed Hill I said I'd be pissed if we took bazemore for his asking price.

What is that you don't like about Bazemore at that price?

I think it was an overpay when we're looking at purely what he has only done in the league, while a guy like Bazemore got overpaid for what he has done for a grand total of one year (he did similar #s with the lakers for a small stretch - shows he's at least capable of it).

They're paying Bazemore 18mil as a 4th option who put up 12/5/2, and most likely will only be a 3rd option at best.

But we're not paying him to be a bench SF to be a defender and only a defender, we're paying him like Portland paid AFA, to keep being a good defender but finding a better shot. Worked for them, could end up really bad or really good for us. Gotta gamble though, can't keep pushing the same shitty injury prone, defensive woed roster for 3 years straight.

I think Hill was overpaid by 2mil/yr, but in the bigger picture 2mil isn't much in this day and age if he becomes an adequate 4th option starter.

He his best season to date registered at 13.4 PER. 99 ORTG and 100 DRTG.

I hate giving nearly a 5th of my salary cap to that.

Also lol at calling him a 3 and D guy. 1.5 3s per game. Absolute fire from beyond the arc.
