re: NBA Offseason Trade & FA thread: KD To Ws, Wade to Bulls

I think it's more along the lines that the Hawks have a ton of FA money to spend. We have the ability to offer two max contracts and still have room leftover to spend on accompanying pieces. KDs style seems to fit a little too well into our system. He can come in and be the superstar of the franchise (something we haven't had since Dominique) and I think he would flourish. There were no hard reports out there that even indicated that he was entertaining the Hawks as a possibility, so it's all just fandom at this point. Something that I am sure every fan of every team will do at some point or other.

Nothing more than Grant Hill was going to try and get us a meeting.

Why do you say that? They have Bird rights on them

You would think Grant Hill would have more star power and the ability to bring in some of the upper tier free agents at least for a meeting. Kind of a shame.

So the Lakers have about $35M left to spend after Mozgov and Clarkson. Any guesses on who is getting paid next?
I'm going to guess Evan Turner well above market value

If Mozgov can do this on a night in, night out basis, the Lakers got a steal

I'm hoping they get stupid with an Eric Gordon offer. He'd probably enjoy being back in the Staples Center.

93 points 29 rebounds on 10/15 shooting, hell of an impressive night

93 points on only 15 shots, sounds like a James Harden wet dream.

If they get a max Parons, they are still in desperate need of a center. They are rumored to be in the Pau and Dwight sweepstakes.
I don't see them going over the cap, since they have to resign both CjMC and Baby Dame next offseason.

He was a beast at the line that night

Imagine if.you will that NBA free agency was Black Friday, what the Lakers did just a few hours ago was camp out until midnight at the front of the line and when the doors opened, made a beeline for electronics and came away with a USB wall charger when everyone else was scrambling for the game consoles, HDTVs, and PCs.

reading the overnight action and LOL at teams flying all around to meet a scrub like chandler parsons and giant LOL at my rockets for sending superstar james harden at midnight to meet a guy like Kent Bazemore while bazemore discusses wanting $20m/year
what a world we live in, kobe bryant or lebron wasn't goin nowhere to meet a guy like kent bazemore

At this point, I'd rather strike out this year in free agency than to lock ourselves down with some horrible contracts. Bazemore getting 20 mill is laughable.

agree just laughable to send your franchise player and arguably a top 5 player to meet with freaking kent bazemore. If you're gonna keep harden up at midnight and make him travel as part of your contingent it better be for one of the marquee guys
man the warriors certainly wont be sending steph curry out to meet with donatas motiejunas or some shite

I was in Houston recently and these two dudes walked up to me to ask me a question and I could tell they were from somewhere in Eastern Europe so I asked what country they were from. One guy responds Lithuania, then the other said you know Donatas Motiejunas? And then they both yelled out DMo! DMo! He's from Lithuania.
It made my night.

Philly, for example, needs to spend $40mil. And players like Bazemore and other guys of that ilk, I doubt are going to settle on 1 year deals, so some teams don't really have much of a choice at this point.
