thats your top 5 rank them how you wish
Just because Durant, LBJ, Kawhi, George, Butler, and Green have other skills, can play other positions, that doesnt mean they aren't also technically 3 and D SF's.
GTFO haha.
Ariza is solid but the only way he is top 5 3 and D is by making the sort of logical gymnastics to exclude clearly superior players at his position because they are more diverse, better SF's that can do more then just 3 and D. Which is just ridiculous.

What about R. Covington? Philly already has him and he is a pretty highly regarded 3 and D S..

3 and D refers to guys who does pretty much only those 2 things.

3 and D SF is commonly referred to as guys who aren't creators offensively, shoot the 3 and play strong defense. Sorry but Superstars/max contract guys aren't a 3 and D player. and we arent' comparing Ariza to those guys anyways.

Handle this shell I've got to step out for a minute the common sense is lacking with these guys.

Ariza isn't even a top 80 player in the league when it comes to defensive win shares and we know that when it comes to ranking players DWS is one of, if not the most, important measures.

Not when it doesn't suit particular arguments. Then it isn't.
Context bro

So, extremely limited guys that ain't worth shite? Got it. Isn't that the point you were arguing against?

No, thats fricking retarded.
All of those guys can do 3 and D but you want to exclude them because they can do more then that? Thats not how analysis works....Hey guys! This player is top 5 if we exclude 5-6 guys who are clearly better then him at it.
You and Boom are both being ridiculous. You are actually coming off worse though because you are knighting for a troll.

Oh here we go again. Gotta shuffle through trash to get to something with substance. Not directed at Bronco, just a general statement.

Saw your edit, but btw, what narrative am I feeding, exactly?

Dude don't even entertain them. They think they are geniuses at bending a narrative to fit their dumb arguments except 5 posters automatically call them out on being wrong.
Ariza was .02 percentage points above the league average in threes. And that's top five to you boom? You still want to keep doing this dumb dance you always do?
Anyways. Moving on. I hope my Pelicans make a move for an all star caliber player. If we want to win now we need a huge player. If not I hope we don't take a pg. I'd rather Heild or Brown.

As much as it pains me, you are right about the 3 and D versus superstar argument. I'd probably put Bazemore in the group, though. And you have to admit that Ariza has fallen off lately.
