So when do we actually expect dominoes to start falling? Tomorrow? Or do they hold off a little bit?

Cavs are out of the luxury tax if Bron leaves so I imagine Gilbert's ego will want them to fight for a playoff spot.

Laker fans are okay with wasting one of the few years of LeBrons prime left unbelievable

The dominoes of LeBron and Paul George are not going to fall tonight.

This was when it looked like lebron needed a push. Now that all of the rumor is that lebron is coming regardless, I think it's weird that the Lakers are expected to negotiate against themselves
Not sure why you're taking such offense to the Spurs' posturing here, it's the most logical thing for them to do at this very moment in these circumstances.

I mean is this your first time in this thread? Did you not see all of the Laker posters talking about being fine with Ingram in a trade a day or two ago?

I remember when the Pacers were idiots for not taking Clarkson and a 1st for PG

I guess it's possible that news will break, but you'll most likely see news on people like Trevor Ariza, Derrick Favors, etc.

None of those 3 are close to a healthy Kawhi Leonard.
The fact that it's well known that Kawhi would likely sign that extension with LAL adds a wrinkle to his situation that the others didn't have.

Yeah I remember Mitch and Jim’s big signing of Mozgov happened like 20 minutes after it started

Listening to the Simmons podcast with Haralabob, it's incredible to hear Simmons get beaten down for an hour and a half

quote:the only part I think is absurd is them wanting us to pay them for lebron. If the Lakers said they were only interested in trading deng for Kawhi straight up, wouldn't you think that's absurd? Even if it was just posturing?

Simmons overrates Tatum and especially Kyrie soooooo much. Then has the dude he probably respects the most on his NBA knowledge, and it just did not go how Simmons would have wanted it to.

There has been reports. It may not be teh case today, but it is still possible that Lebron is pressuring LA to make a move first before he commits. The Spurs should operate under that assumption until something changes factually. So again, that makes sense, it's logical. Your Deng/Kawhi thing just doesn't make any sense comparably.
quote:Not what I asked, I asked why SHOULD they?
I never said they would.
quote:I'm not saying they should, this portion of this debate really isn't directly about the Lakers. It's about the Spurs, and why it's so "insane" to keep asking for Ingram, when it's really the logical play until Lebron officially confirms he's headed to LA. SAS should just wait it out and keep asking for Ingram. I'm not saying what the Lakers should do, just stating that is what SAS should do.
But why should the Lakers be bent over a relative barrel for Kawhi when they may have already been told lebron is coming?

If my math is correct, w/ Zubac & Bryant (assuming) on the books Lakers would be slightly short of having enough cap space for James & George if they move Deng w/ no salary coming back and keep Randle’s cap hold. Would have enough if they stretch Deng and renounce Randle.

Could be a trade. $1.5 mil expiring to add as salary ballast. But also, Zubac was good as a rookie. Perhaps there is some hope he gets back on track. $1.5 mil is a small amount to risk

quote:and I would disagree. The Lakers could easily be getting info from lebron that hes coming and that they dont need to make a move. They can operating the same exact way, just from a different side. Doesnt make either more ridiculous imo
Your Deng/Kawhi thing just doesn't make any sense comparably.
quote:they can ask for the moon all they want. Doesnt mean asking for a return for lebron is any less ridiculous imo
Not what I asked, I asked why SHOULD they?
quote:I didn't say it was insane to ask for Ingram. I said it's insane that Ingram is even on the table when no one else is offering a similar player. My point wasn't about the spurs. It was about all of us discussing a potential trade. They can do whatever the frick they want. The only truly ridiculous thing that I feel has come from this is them asking for a return for lebron
It's about the Spurs, and why it's so "insane" to keep asking for Ingram
