I see why Love took the money but WTF is Gilbert doing?

Love is a supporting player not a lead star.

This also raises the chances of a lot of tax repeater costs for a shitty team.

What are Cleveland's chances for acquiring someone better?

I don't hate this for the Cavs simply because Love is about as good as they can lure.

<3 you TBird but poor Derozan’s PTSD is going to go in hyperdrive when Kang struts into the AT&T center imo

Would you rather be on the treadmill to a first round exit in the weak east each year or slash your payroll and gamble on the lottery?

You aren’t beating the Warriors without LeBron. Not sure you are beating the Wizards without LeBron.

The lottery is risky but paying a lot of money to be in a dead end spot isn’t what will lead them to success.

Not really. They are under the cap for this year and will likely waive JR and Hill after this season. I think they will have enough cap room to sign another max player next year.

Per Bobby Marks
quote:

Even with the Kevin Love extension, Cleveland is still projecting to have close to $70M in cap space during the summer of 2020 to reshape the roster. Cap space for Cleveland next summer could be in the $25M range if George Hill, Kyle Korver and JR Smith are waived next offseason. All 3 have partially guaranteed contracts. Love will have a six-month trade restriction by signing the new extension.
