It's just GSW after this offseason
Y'all missed your window
Ariza missed 15 games last season. Do you know what the Rockets' record was in those games?
14-1.
And that 1 loss was the last game of the season where everyone was resting.
Ariza was a good role player for the team and I thank him for his service, but holy shite you guys are so desperate to disparage the Rockets at every turn that y'all are talking absolute nonsense.

A 1st that is going to be between 20-25 is hardly a big loss considering the benefits
Not like they gave up a lottery pick

Indeed. Taking on Melo in the first place though was not, which was my point

look at stuff like net rating, best offense in league history, etc etc. one of maybe ten teams ever who could push GOAT to 7. Etx

These guys just don’t know how good James and Chris are no matter how much data is put in their face. Two of the greatest offensive players ever. You can surround them with average role players and they waltz to 60 wins. They are THAT good.

You're bragging about it, while everyone here is actually hoping Melo goes there.

The remaining questions
Olympic melo playing with the first string?
Ball hog melo playing with 2nd string?
Does kahwi report? Pass physical?
Just how horrible is this going to be for Canada?

According to your guy they lost your best perimeter defender as well. Trevor is easily 2nd best perimeter guy.
You have to replace 58 minutes (Trevor at 33 and luc at 25), and you replaced him with James freakin Ennis and Melo.
We aren't talking about how good the Rox are going to be. They can still win 60 sure.
This is about beating the fricking douchebag super team that is the Warriors. You don't replace those guys with lesser players and expect to be better than them. You have Zach Lowe saying your identity as a gritty defensive team is gone. Disagree if you will but that's true as of now.

You have a dumbass poster constantly saying they're an all time team every other page, when they haven't even made a Finals. We can't let that shite slide. Sorry bro.

CC identity was the best offense the league has ever seen, they were really good D. But best offense ever. And we know defense is much less important than offense. So losing a perimeter defender. Yea not that big a deal. Especially when Trevor and Luc were slight minuses on the more important end ... the offense end.

Preach bubba.
Definitely the best regular season offense I've ever seen.

Hey Prime do you think the Rox are an all time great team? Honest question.

They had literally one of the best offenses of all-time. That's not up for debate. It's a statistical fact. While at the same time having one of the best defenses in the league.
Only 15 teams have ever won 65 games in a season, and the Rockets were one of them. Think about that. Only 15 teams out of the nearly 1,500 teams in NBA history have won 65 or more games in a season.
We already know the Warriors are an all-time team. That series against the Warriors went to 7 games, and the series arguably would have been won by the Rockets had Chris Paul not have gotten injured.
And I don't think anyone disputes that if they went to the Finals they would have easily beaten the Cavs.
The only thing that was in their way from being an all-time team was that they faced a tried and true all-time team in the WCF and it went to the brink. Golden State is a team that people view as virtually immortal. Possibly a top-5 team ever.
If the Rockets were in the East and the WCF match-up were the NBA Finals match-up, it would have been the two titans of NBA basketball going at it in an all-time NBA Finals.
But because those two teams met in the same conference, they will most likely be forgotten.
But I do not think it is crazy to say that the 2017-18 Rockets were an all-time team. They won't be remembered that way, but I think it is a valid argument.

Won 65 without even good health. Last year’s team only won’t be remember as an all timer if they win the title THIS year or next. Bc the title would overshadow it. But those of us that really know the game and the history know there aren’t a whole lotta teams ever to Lace them up that woulda knocked off hardwn and them last year. What was it 50-5 record when Chris and james both played with their Rim runner Clint out there. That’s just unprecedented.

If you knew me or paid attention to my posts, you would know that's not the case
You lost more than Ariza. You lost depth. And more importantly, you lost an opportunity.
Warriors got better. Y'all got worse. It's simple as that.

Nawlins is good peeps.
Ariza loss is not good, but I think Gerald Green is much better than Luc for what we need. I think Melo on a cheep deal is a low risk move if it happens. I would rather have him than Luc too. Also Morey made a sneaky good signing with Carter Williams. He isn't going to play pg in Houston. He will be a 3 and D wing. I have a feeling that even though it looks meh now he could play a bigger role.
Also I don't think Morey is done. He has his core guys. He doesn't have to swing for the fences anymore. He can try to get another role player by dumping Anderson mid season and give up A pick. Plus a lineup of Paul, Harden, Gordon, Tucker and Capela is still lethal AF. Houston is going to be fine.

quote:An opportunity... not the *only* opportunity. When Dwight Howard left people thought the window was closed... until it wasn't. Not only was the window not closed, but they became better than ever. To act like last season was the only shot at a title is silly. It's wishful thinking on your part and fans of other teams.
If you knew me or paid attention to my posts, you would know that's not the case

quote:I completely disagree with your assessment of the Warriors. DeMarcus Cousins makes teams worse. Especially uptempo teams like the Warriors who thrive on running the floor. And that's a 100% healthy DeMarcus Cousins. He does give them more variance in the playoffs, but I do not think he helps them against the Rockets.
Warriors got better. Y'all got worse. It's simple as that.
And that's assuming he's healthy. He may never be what he was.
As for the Rockets, we'll have to see what they do by the time the season starts and by the time the playoffs start.
The Rockets always bolster their depth throughout the season, whether it was Gerald Green last season or Lou Williams the season before, or Corey Brewer, Josh Smith, and Pablo Prigioni before that. They always get key contributors during the season.
And depth doesn't matter in the playoffs anyway. Rotations shorten to 7 or 8 guys.
I am not convinced that the Warriors got any better, and I think people are underestimating the Rockets... again.
