Rockets offer to Clint Capela on July 1 was five years, $85 million, two individuals with knowledge of the offer said. With incentives, the deal could be worth $90 million. Rockets remain optimistic sides a deal will be reached. "Absolutely," one of the individuals said.

He's pulling a Noel.

It really is astonishing tbh. How do these agents find work? Dumb as rocks.

Lots of people said he was getting max
I pegged him at 15-18 around the turn of the new year. That’s fair. We like to reward our guys who come up through the system and improve the way Clint has.

I asked Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta how much the luxury tax is influencing Houston's offseason decisions. "It never even came up in any discussion," he said.

Maori: "Both Trevor and Mbah a Moute were a big part of our team. That's part of my job and our staff's job is to put together a new group for this year. We feel confident. We need our best team on April 15. We're going to either sign or trade or something to get us back to where we need to be, and we also really like our group."

18m for him is fricking expensive. He needs to sign that contract now, because he's an injury from being Noel.
Players like him are getting phased out, even dj won't hit 20mil annually next year and he's arguably a better player.

As posted earlier he wants Steven Adams money.
He wants 4yr/$100million lol.
No one will even sign him to an offer sheet right now, much less even an offer sheet for $10 million yet his stupid idiot agent wants $25 million. Dumb.

Seems like OKC is trying to trade him to somewhere that’s trying to get rid of a longer contract that is cheaper per year imo.
would they take Miles Plumlee and his $12 mil per for the next 2 years?
did you know that Miles (ie the Shitty) Plumlee had a 12 mil per year deal?

Well, to be fair a large part of that is the cap environment right now. There was a very small amount of cap space to go around this offseason, and he was restricted which also limits the motivation of other teams to even attempt to sign him, as they "know" that Houston basically has to match whatever they sign him to anyway. Next offseason is a much different cap environment, where up to 29 teams can have cap space (The number was less than 10 teams this offseason).

If I am Houston I offer up Ryan Anderson, 2 2nds for Melo. May need to send another piece to OKC. Gives OKC a legit stretch 4. Their D would suffer but with Adams, PG-13, Roberson, you can hide Ryan Anderson.

They dumping melo bc of luxury tax implications a trade for Ryan would have them in the same spot.
