Bill Neff—James Nunnally’s agent tells me this morning that he doesn’t think Houston will continue their interest in his client, and instead have focused on James Ennis.

I really hope we get an in-depth story on what happened with him/caused all of this that led to the yips. Unfortunately, that's got to be a tough thing to shake when it comes to sports

The Athletic Sources: Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves are discussing a maximum rookie scale contract extension, colleague @JonKrawczynski and I are told.

I’m told Clint Capela felt undervalued during initial negotiations with Houston—he’s reportedly seeking more than the 4/80m given to Zach Lavine, and was offered a contract in the range of the 4/48m given to Nurkic.

I love when one shitty contract completely fricks every other negotiation in FA

Oh yea. I'm wondering if the Kings are about to frick the Rockets

If you're the Rockets, what do you do if the Capela signs a 4/80 with the Kings?

How would that work?

They just drafted Bagley and already have Will Cauley-stein on the roster.

Rockets would just let Capela go if they offered $25million pr $20 and Sacramento would frick themselves over.

Sacramento isnt offering that though as they literally just drafted Bagley. Hes going to play.

So they're going to pay a back up $20million in this market?

Yeah, Sacramento already has a logjam of bigs. Cauley-Stein, Bagley, Giles, Labissiere, Randolph, Koufos. I want to see Skal get more minutes as it is.

I don't know if you've heard this, but Bagley is playing SF.

And WCS is a RFA next offseason and isn't nearly as good as Capela.

ETA: They also have Hield and Bogdanovic playing SG and just offered LaVine

What? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The guy is a rebounding machine and can't shoot worth a shite.

Nah, he wont be at SF when it comes down to it. That's beyond stupid.

Hes 6-11 for fricks sake.

I agree, and it was a joke referencing the comment that Divac said about him getting some time at SF.

The Kings are a mess. They have a glut of young guys and no direction.

It's too bad because Fox, Bagley, Jackson and some of their other guys have talent. In a legit organization, they could be contributors.

Tidbits from Rob Pelinka’s press conference just now regarding the Lakers free agent signings

quote:

Pelinka calls getting LeBron "the culmination of everything we've been working towards." Calls the signing "the ultimate validation" for the moves the Lakers made to create cap space and build roster in last year-plus.

quote:

Four Laker starting spots are up for grabs.

Said Rob Pelinka: “We’re really excited about camp this year because Luke (Walton) has decided... we’re going to have an incredibly competitive camp and all the spots are going to be open spots, putting aside LeBron James, obviously.”

quote:

On Rondo signing: "We wanted to add basketball IQ and playoff toughness to our roster and he brings that." Pelinka raving about Rondo's experience and value he can bring in the playoffs. “We see this as a playoff roster and playoff team so [Rondo] was essential for us to add.” he said.

quote:

Pelinka compares the toughness and "edge" that Lance Stephenson brings to how Kobe had Artest and MJ had Rodman

quote:

Pelinka says that he, Magic and LeBron think "trying to play the Warriors at their own game is a trap." Says that's why they want to add "defense, toughness and depth."

quote:

"We're going to play fast"- Rob Pelinka, which is interesting when (as @LakerFilmRoom notes) LeBron has never played on a team like that. Pelinka also emphasized how most of their players are positionless and can bring "length and speed" to the team.

quote:

Pelinka, on why he thinks LeBron chose the Lakers: "I don't think it's any one thing. He's a student of the game, and sometimes in life actions speak louder than words ... For us he was particularly excited about our young core, the toughness that they played with and the fact that we have flexibility to build something special"

quote:

Los Angeles Lakers @Lakers

Rob Pelinka's message from LeBron James: "We don't celebrate signings. We don't celebrate roster additions. We celebrate championships."

quote:

Los Angeles Lakers @Lakers

"LeBron made it clear to Earvin and me that it was one of the things he was most excited about." - Rob Pelinka, on the young core

quote:

Rob Pelinka reiterates the fact there will be four open spots in the starting lineup with LeBron James being the only obvious lock to start

Oklahoma City looking to get something for Carmelo Anthony and talking to Brooklyn about a deal, with Jeremy Lin potentially going to OKC, per sources. Nets looking to get pick(s). Want to move Lin and would buy out Melo.

I'm darn near Swaggy'd out being a Big Brother (TV show) aficionado. As for Swaggy P, Nick Young, the Kings, Grizzlies, Rockets, Cavs, Utah, #Twolves, others have kicked the tires. Told he sees a good opportunity here in MN, if interest ever turns more aggressive like last year.
