So they're the same as last season and winning the title

They still got money for Dwight? Might as well at this point

legit has been no big come back from this injury and even remotely the same. I have said all along to pels fans just let dude walk. Even if he comes back this yr, he will not be the boogie everyone saw.. and likely will cause drama on the warriors. so its a win win

Its the fact that the potential reward is still so goddamn high while the risk is absolutely low.

For the NBA champs, that should never be an available option...its just absurd.

He could return 80% and play 20MPG in the playoffs and they're going to be nearly unstoppable.

Losing Boogie for nothing is pretty hard. To the Ws for 5.3 is event harder.

It might be better long term for the Pels but today, it’s tough.

People are overreacting, they were always the massive favorite and this doesn't move the needle all that much. It's just ridiculous that it actually happened. At least it will make the Warriors more interesting to watch.

Elton Brand is the clear example of someone who can come back at least 80%. Even Brand said so himself it wasn't the achilles that caused him problems afterwards, but other nagging injuries.

That's the worrisome part, 80% cousins is still a top 25 player that GSW just added. That's the potential, worst case its nothing, but the potential for them to be vastly better just became real.

Thinking he will come back at 80% is very optimistic

Is 50% even to be expected? Seems like Achilles injuries takes more out of players than that but I could be wrong

If you take a big pay cut to joIn a team that’s already capable of winning it all without you, and has, you are essentially buying a trophy. If they are all All-Stars, winning means less and no single player’s contribution matters that much. I wonder if any of the original, core Warriors would ever start to resent it. The entire run begins to look bogus.

Yep. Totally agree.

Right, he didn't sign for $30m/year. He signed for $5. That's pennies on the dollar even if he's only 50% of what he was.

But that risk is very legitimate

How so? He could not play a second and they still win a title.

Agreed. People are reacting to the optics of it all. But in all likelihood this isn't a major move for next year imo

It is, but that's the reality which is worrisome.

Even Rudy Gay said so himself he's not 100%, but we all saw it. He can still ball.

I'm not mad that we didn't give him a frick ton of $$$, I'm glad.

I'm just unhappy GSW potentially became unbeatable if he does recover well enough by playoff time. That's what I'm mad at.
