That's the worrisome part, 80% cousins is still a top 25 player that GSW just added. That's the potential, worst case its nothing, but the potential for them to be vastly better just became real.

he will not be 85% nothing this season. And next summer how many of that team contract expiring. People need to calm down lol

He wont be back till February and there's a legit chance he will never be the same. I feel like im taking crazy pills right now with how everyones reacting

I mean there's a chance he regresses, but an elite center just joined an elite team for pennies on the dollar

At the very least, it's unusual, right?

People are overreacting, they were always the massive favorite and this doesn't move the needle all that much. It's just ridiculous that it actually happened. At least it will make the Warriors more interesting to watch.

the move kinda neutralizes anything the Lakers do from here on out imo

I don't care if he has one fricking foot.

$5M/year is Brian Scalabrini money.

Jesus.

The Lakers getting Kawhi would be a MUCH bigger move in like every way

On the Warriors he will barely even have to play, he’ll be able to rotate out so much as we wants to rest, etc.

The issue is not that the Warriors signed Cousins. It’s insane they were able to sign him for $5 fricking million and lose no assets

The 5 million dollars part means the Warriors take none of the risk on his rehabs but get literally all of the reward of an all star center. It’s absurd

Right but the risk is non existent. This singing is purely upside.

So next summer when the warriors dismantle, Lebron gets Kawhi and whoever else, the king then wins the next 3 in a row to get To six rings. I’ll take it

it is until you realize why he was able to join for pennies on the dollar

I don’t think Boogie fits well with them to be honest... even if he was 100%.

The Warriors blow teams out by going small and running... not having a huge center lumbering up the court and demanding the ball in the half court.

And defensively he cannot switch effectively.

The last big name player who had an achilles injury just came back from it after a year and played pretty goddamn well in a limited role.

There's a large chance he probably won't come back that well from it, but there's still a chance next year by playoff time he can be a VERY good center. Far better than McGee/Zaza on that team.

That's the issue, before you might have been able to beat them down low because they don't have a guy to clog the lane. Boogie comes back and plays a solid 20 minutes and you can kiss that thought process good bye.

Yes. I'm not saying it's a bad move for GS. I'm saying, people who think this is the nail in the coffin for the upcoming year should realize the kind of injury hes coming off and its unlikely he will be anywhere near his former self

This a good move for the warriors, because they are in a spot to take this risk

green is one of the best rim protectors in the league. NO one showed the ability to beat them down low. Or even close to it.

You can make the argument this seasons nail was already in place before this signing. I just don’t get you using the word risk. What is GS risking?

Sorry. I worded it wrong. The warriors can essentially waste a roster spot with boogie if he doesnt work out and keep chugging along in a way that other teams can't

I think you're underestimating how motivated he will be to play well so he can get paid next year. Boogie is a really good passer with ball skills unheard of for a big. Those things don't leave with an Achilles injury.
