Not sure if I missed it but what's up with Love for Wiggins? If it hasn't happened or isnt even being discussed anymore at this point, I gotta wonder what's going on there. Seems like it could or should be getting done if Cleveland is willing to get rid of Wiggins.

Cleveland doesn't want to trade him.

They should. You keep Wiggins, you provide an ideal nurturing situation with Kyrie and LeBron. In 2-3 years, he's probably at All-Star level. He's that good. At that point, you become the favorites to win the title. That's some good potential right there.
Or you could trade for Love right now and become to favorites to win the title right now. In a city incredibly desperate for a title, with a star who just came home, according to him, to satisfy that desperation.
fricking satisfy it! shite! Get Love! frick potential, you can be the best NOW.

I'll disagree until you can prove it.
Considering Dirk has done almost no endorsements and Wade has several high profile ones do you really need people to prove it?
Wade's current shoe deal with Chinese company Li Ming gets him $100 million alone.
He has also had deals with Gatorade, Nike, Converse, Staples, and T-Mobile all w/huge commercial pushes on TV.
Dirk, meanwhile, has a single small contract w/Nike b/c those are the shoes he prefers.

They have to find a third team to get the salary to work..

They are also going to be limited by the cap with three max players at that point.
If they wait until next offseason Cleveland may be able to get Love without losing Wiggins as Minnesota will have to worry about the Lakers getting him for nothing. Cleveland may be able to do a sign and trade of assets to Minnesota.

They aren't rushing into this Love thing, nor should they.
If they sell out to get Love by trading Wiggins, in a couple of years they're facing the same problem Miami had this year. They will struggle to fill out the roster as those three max contracts dominate the cap space.
My thing is, they aren't likely winning the championship next year anyway. So just see how the roster comes together first then make a decision. This roster's upside is greater if Wiggins develops and they're able to add another piece next offseason.
It's a difference in philosophies and there are risks to both approaches.

How stupid is Avery Johnson? He just said Stephenson was a triple double threat every time he steps on the court. He averages ~14/7/5 (9/4/3 for his career).
I know AJ can't speak English to save his life, but is LS really that good? I know he had a solid season and was an idiot on the court.

He did lead the league in triple-doubles, no?

quote:Agreed and for most teams you don't do something rash. But this is Cleveland, you've got a short window with the GOAT to get your one and only championship. You have to go for it. IMO

He led the NBA in triple doubles last year
And sure LS has his flaws and is a little rough around the edges, but hes still just 23years old and has already established himself as 1 of the better 2 way players in the league.

He lead the league with 5 so I mean technically I guess it's right.
LeBron is a threat to get a triple double every night but I think he only had one or maybe non last season

Did he? That's basically why I asked this...is he a triple double threat every time he steps on the court? If anybody else had said it (and with proper grammar), I wouldn't have thought twice about it.

He had more triple doubles than anyone this past season.
Posted on 7/16/14 at 5:14 pm to CocomoLSU
quote:He said he was a "threat". Those are fairly "threatening" for triple-double. Only one player in one season has ever averaged a triple-double in NBA history.

I love the way Avery talks btw.

I love it in an entertaining way. But I find it hard to take him seriously at times because of how uneducated he sounds (I know he's not, but dammit he tries to sound like it).
I guess I can buy that. And I know he's not averaging a T/D, but the assists just seemed pretty low for someone who led the league in T/Ds. Maybe I'm overthinking it.
