Stephenson isn't a terrible fit in Dallas, and they have the money to spend assuming the Rockets match Parsons

He'd be fun to have in the Southwest division

I could see them offering him 3 for 38mil or something along those lines.

Mavs have Stephenson higher than Deng on their board

Imagine a team built on Ellis and Stevenson when Dirk retires

Guy is an 8-10 MM per season player
Parsons would have been a $12m-$13m guy from most teams this year, especially when you look at the contracts of other players that signed... Avery Bradley 4/$32m, same with Frye's contract. Hello, Gordon Hayward just got a 4 / $63m.
And I agree hes been a steal with what his cap # was due to being a 2nd round pick... but thats also another reason why he would chase that big contract. And considering that he has been EXTREMELY underpaid, he deserves to be overpaid. And its only overpaid by $1m-$2m a year.
And in regards to this 3 team trade with CLE, GS, and Minn... If Im Minnesota there is no way in hell I would take that trade. Especially considering the original offer made by Golden St was just as good or better. You downgrade going from Lee to TT. Screw that, just make the original deal with GS if thats all you can get from Cleveland. Hell I would rather Draymond Green than TT if I were the Wolves. You have Pekovic and Dieng, who was impressive when he got minutes. I actually expect Dieng to be better than TT. When he played 20+mpg (17games) he averaged 12.1ppg, 11.5rebs, 1.7blocks, and shot 59%. Impressive #s especially for a rookie. And when he played at least 30mpg he was at 14ppg, 13.3rebs, 1.8bpg, on 56.5%. Those are some fantastic #s. And i fully expect him to be improved next year.
Flip Saunders is smart for holding this up right now. 1st off I would say there is no way Im doing this without getting Wiggins. If Cavs say you cant get him, then call their bluff and start calling other teams who want Love. Time is in favor for the Wolves, not against them. They still have a year before Love becomes a FA. You have plenty of time to wait and field offers until you get the 1 you want. The Wolves shouldnt be in a rush to trade Love.
And the Cavs are being smart to not just dish away Wiggins right now. They can just keep Wiggins and still be a great team and a title contender right away. I dont really think they need Love to be a title contender. Sure it would help, but Kyire + Wiggins + LBJ + TT + Anderson and Waiters off the bench is a very talented team. Plus, you would have Wiggins learning and working and practicing alongside LBJ... thats scary.
I understand why they would rather keep Wiggins than trade for Love. But, if thats the route they go, then you take Klay Thompson, TT, and Waiters. And nothing else. Rubio + Waiters + Klay Thompson + Dieng + TT + Pek is a solid lineup with 1 of Dieng or TT on the bench.

ESPN has learned that Pierce will sign a two-year deal with the Wizards at the mid-level exception with a player option entering Year 2
FML. the Hawks are out here chasing Deng I'm assuming for 10ish per, and they gave Thabo 4 per guaranteed for 3 yrs to be a backup, and they coulda had The Truth for the MLE? for only 2 yrs? srlsy? was Ferry asleep?
they still have the money to give him a better deal right now. I wouldn't have gone crazy paying him, but 2 yrs/ 16 mil to add more leadership and do Paul Pierce late game shite? I could deal with that.

There was no way Parsons got less than 10 mil. 15 is a little much but not too bad considering the Rockets can have him and Dwight as free agents in 2016. I have no doubt Morey will shed space and go big again

Completely agree. And I agree its overpaid by $1m-$2m a year, but thats not bad at all. Especially when you look at some of the other contracts signed this FA. But, like I said, Parsons has been extremely underpaid due to where he was drafted at.
I actually like seeing a team overpay for a guy taken in the 2nd round who performed like a top 10 draft pick in his draft, because that guy actually deserves to be overpaid a little bit IMO. They have faith in him for the future and compensate him for that due to his play, and they give him a little more to almost re- compensate him for what he did and show their appreciation for that. Unlike a good bit of those 1st round picks who have done nothing in the NBA, yet are overpaid just because of where they get drafted. Its not Parsons fault that scouts suck. Yet hes the 1 that suffers financially from it.

Spot on
Even if they match Parsons and do nothing else it is an improvement.
PG:
Beverley
Canaan
Johnson?
SG:
Harden
Ariza
Johnson?
SF:
Parsons
Ariza
Covington?
PF:
Jones
(Parsons at times)
C:
Dwight
Whoever they sign

You couldn't be more wrong on this man. The Wolves need to take the best deal they can get now because Love will leave them after next season at the latest. They have no leverage. The longer they wait, the lower his price will be because other teams will know that Minnesota doesn't want to part with him without getting something in return. Minnesota just needs to accept that they are just going to get a near all-star quality player plus a pick or two from someone and go ahead and get that rebuild going. Love isn't staying and Rubio isn't a legit point.

Neither Cleveland or Golden State will have the cap space to sign Love. They can't simply just wait it out a year.
