Iggy can threaten to retire but is he really leaving $17 million on the table. His absolute worst case would be having to play for part of the season with Memphis and getting shipped to a contender before the deadline anyway.

Probably not, but he has made ~140 million in career earnings and has other income streams.
My guess is he gets traded at some point before the season starts.
