By doing it.

You’re naive if you don’t think the other teams can force the issue if they want to.

RP is not his agent, no way is Kawhi’s agent so shitty that he’ll allow him to make such a major financial mistake.

So no more Uncle Dennis bashing because we hate Rich Paul?

Paul George, Kawhi Leonard & Anthony Davis all requested trades with the Lakers as a preference(irrelevant Lakers).

Rich Paul's client was the only one that got his wish . A huge thanks to the public work & dogged detertimination of Rich Paul. Paul went out of his way to publicy warn AD suitors about wasting assets & it worked.

Commissioner isn't letting the Lakers stall this with 4-5 other teams waiting to play their summer league players. Not happening. This is happening ASAP, too many teams relying on it

complete lie

players can still play in the cringe arse summer lg. just for the team who drafted them

you're more out of touch than I originally thought if you think those players will play for the team that drafted them. this isn't like the Andrew Wiggins situation where the trade was to be completed on July 30th. July 6th is the date here.

the Lakers could potentially have until early Sunday at the latest to get a decision from Kawhi. and that will be based on how quickly the league can process all of the other trades that have taken place. but the Pels, Wizards, Hawks, Sixers, Pistons, and Grizzlies have no incentive to wait on this trade to be completed. And you better believe they will all be pressuring the Lakers to complete the call because those other 6 teams want all their rookies playing SL

More Lakers fans thinking they're hot shite just cause they're the Lakers:

quote:

If it’s taking a week for you to figure out if you wanna play for the lakers or somewhere else, just go somewhere else.. Look at how AD forced himself to LA, or the way Lebron signed with LA compared to the Heat. This is about to jersey you put on, infite loyalty from the franchise and fans when you fight on court. Being the superstar of the Lakers is different from any other team, and maybe he is not the guy. I start finding this humiliating for the Lakers..

quote:

He needs us just as much as we want him. Give me a break our brand is second to none and we have the best team around him by far. Relax.

quote:

Here we go. Even if we lose out on Kawhi there are still plenty of role players left. We still gonna be competing either way. Raptors on the other hand...

quote:

AD is the heir apparent even if Kawhi signs here. It will be impossible for me to embrace a guy who can't muster up any enthusiasm to join a super team, for more money and better global brand expansion, in the NBA's greatest city. I mean, I'll happily cheer him on in purple & gold, but AD will always be more of a fan favorite. Wanting to be here matters.

quote:

frick. Yeah. Kawhi has a chance to form the greatest big 3 of all time and set himself up for lasting success for the rest of his career with the premiere franchise of the NBA while also making more money.

quote:

Lakers shouldn’t be begging for him to come - Lakers is the most successful franchise in NBA history. If he “needs to think about it” - then he shouldn’t come there. Not worthy then

quote:

What a fricking clown. Go ahead and resign with the Raptors at this point. You only won with them because of Golden State being fricked by injuries

quote:

Probably gonna catch downvotes for saying something sacrilegious, but do we even want the guy at this point? Lakers are a hometown team, bending over backwards to convince him to come play. We have Lebron and AD, 2 guys that wanted to come here and made it happen. I just don’t like the idea that we’re selling out so hard for a guy that can’t make what should probably be an easy decision.

quote:

This man is a straight clown.. shite does not take all of this? Do you want to fricking win? Sign with the lakers. Do you just want to go to a team cause you “trust” them then take yo arse back to Toronto. If you want to be irrelevant for the rest of your life then... you can go raptors or clippers but the best answer choice is to take yo arse to the clippers. See how easy that was fam?

quote:

By not making a decision, Kawhi is making a decision. He has chosen the Raptors by not choosing before the 6th.

For a guy who says brand and image is important to him, he is literally despicably fricking a global brand in the FA equivalent of a text breakup. frick this diva - my energy moves onto AD where its positive.

This guy can get bent.

quote:

It’s simple choice Kawhi, go to the raptors and struggle to carry a team for 4 years, same with the clippers or go to the Lakers and win a guaranteed ring.

quote:

Amazing player and all, but he's lost a lot of goodwill with this silliness. All of the pertinent facts (money, years, teammates, etc) were known to him the second his season ended. For a guy whose personality is so boring and unappealing, this is a shitty way to become the next leader of the franchise. Even if he comes here, AD will likely end up the fan favorite. If you give a guy literally everything he could ask for and he STILL can't commit, it's hard to embrace him as the face of the franchise. For frick's sake, he hasn't even ruled out the Clippers yet. That alone makes him hard for me to warm up to.

the Pelicans have a vested interest in the downfall of the Lakers considering the amount of draft capital they have. I just don't see why they would allow the Lakers a few more days to potentially land one of the best players in the NBA

All that talk about a new, competent front office for the Pels would all be undone from my perspective if they just allowed the Lakers to wait past the 6th with no return.

I mean, come on Kawhi. What the frick

At a minimum, he should have at least eliminated one of the fricking teams by now.

This isn't about being patient, the trade not going through voids several moves as detailed in the reddit post. All the teams involved will go to the commissioner and tell him to address the situation. It's not like the Lakers want to not make the trade anymore, they still want AD. So I assume he'd force them to execute the trade they want to execute. Giving them an extra 2-3 days would seem to be bending the rules an extraordinary amount to give a benefit to a single franchise.
