So we’re in the “too many people like this show so it’s cool to hate on it” phase of inside the NBA

Watch NBC try to recreate it with Barkley and Shaq with Bob Costas in Ernie’s role

NBA on NBC theme song coming back...so that's one good thing.

How so? Fox Sports has been using it for college basketball.

Not at all.

The show just isn't as good as it used to be. Shaq in particular just kinda sucks.

Shaq is probably the worst example of them being worse now. He's always been the same. The "Superman is in the building" bit is all because he hated on Dwight Howard, who was the best center at the time.

Sadly, EJ will stay with TNT.

Yeah. As great as Barkley is, EJ is the straw that stirs that drink. You can see the difference when Ernie misses a show. It isn’t as good

The song belongs to John Tesh. As long as the deal he made with Fox didn't grant them exclusive rights, which I doubt it did, he could also strike a deal with NBC for its use.

can guarantee you that Mike Tirico will be the voice of the NBA on NBC with Stan Van Gundy

Inside the NBA has become the most overrated show out there. There are great moments and hilarious moments, and it used to be great.

And it's still easily the best nba show out there.

They need to lose draymond green in the worst way. Wish they could get Jordan somehow

Michael? He'd be terrible. He'd watch one highlight, say everybody playing sucks, then leave early to head to a cigar bar

You have no idea how'd he talk about players.

And I guarantee they'd break viewership records just to hear thr GOAT talk

What Armad Rashad up to these days? He was a staple for the NBA show on NBC. Marv Albert too, but he’s old.

Costas hasn’t been with NBC for years

They would probably use Tirico/Maria Taylor

We have a good idea based on the real reason he'd never do the show, because he doesn't frick with Barkley anymore. He's so thin-skinned he flushed his friendship with him for saying he doesn't make good hires. Michael is even thinner skinned than Shaq is. Just look at his hall of fame speech.

Replacing Barkley with Maria Taylor sums up everything that’s wrong with this country.

I was told the NBA was not seen as not being worth a massive TV deal. HMMM

You’re looking at less than a 10% increase from their current contracts in a time when live programming is at its peak value. In comparison, the NFL signed contracts in 2021 to start in 2023 that increased their deals by 75% annually.

The new deals more than double the NBA’s current rights fees
