The Nationals are 68-86 with 8 games left in their meaningless season. Abrams is 23-years old, made the All-Star team this year, but also has been hitting like shite since the break.

This is nothing more than the Nationals trying to teach him a lesson. If they were in the hunt for the playoffs, none of this would even been known.

yea, actually.

Your best player.

Just bench him or suspend him. Demoting him is petty as hell and unprofessional

Silly punishment. Bench him for a a couple of games and get over it. It’s the end of a shite season and he didn’t get arrested or anything like that

Just a guess, but maybe there could have been other incidents that led up to this. If that’s the case, maybe they think that their young star with a poor attitude/approach could harm the morale or development of the other young guys they’ve already promoted, so this would be a wake-up call for him and making an example for them.

He probably broke team rules. These guys are getting paid too much money. Good to demote and take some of his money because he broke team rules.

Dude should be torched. They are paying him huge money and he clearly has no sense of professionalism. If he doesn't care about representing the team well, then why should the team keep him in the majors where he's coddled 24/7? Send him down to A ball and let him ride the bus for a while and maybe he'll decide to be a professional.

Is this where we get mad at the rules instead of the rule-breaker?

Max McGee rolled into the hotel around 7AM the morning of the first Super Bowl stinking of booze and sex.

Scored the first TD in Super Bowl history.

Whats the difference? Actually demoting is better because the player is still playing.

I got demoted for a few months by staying at a casino till 10am, and getting home right as she was leaving for work. We got some cash, and hit the casino

my girl was calling his mother, back n forth, and both waiting up for both of us as we got home
