One plays in the SEC, the other has lost their last two games against SEC teams.

Didn't know Mariota played at Jerry's world last year, or the BCS 'ship the year before. Johnny football's been amazing this year, but this specific argument is pretty weak.

Mariota wasn't even on the 2010 team and was the 3rd string QB last year.

This guy. He is the BEST back on the 5th ranked team and LSU would NOT be there without him.FACT.

Mariota still has the meat of schedule to prove his mettle. I say revisit the debate in four weeks.

So La Tech sent Dixon a playbook when he held back in 5 th grade? No a freshman is not a freshman. Learning the playbook for a year and working out is a HUGE advantage.

True but he was also practicing against college players for over a year and adjusting to the speed of the game, whereas true FR players have not had that learning experience before being thrown into the fire.
