Didn't Oregon have Mariota and Maziel committed in the same class?

He's a true freshman as well. Fun fact: He was not even the best freshman back at Tech this season.

That's an extra fun fact because its not even a fact at all!

Right, since you would know better than someone who attends the school and has watch every game this season.

Anyone who watched them knows that before the injury King was better. King was arguably one of the best RB's in the nation averaging 8 yards a carry.

Dixon is an unbelievable back himself, but there was no question King was better.

They complimented each other very nicely in the back field with power/speed. Tech is gonna have a two headed monster next season.

Manziel is the answer. Just look at the numbers man.

he's setting records.

in the SEC.

I dont disagree, I just think Dixon should be a finalist. Manziel would be a good selection.

And Mariota would have better numbers if Kelly did not pull him out of almost every game and not try to take it easy on people. I think Manziel losing all of his high profile games will hurt him also.

Manziel has lost his high profile games by one possession. Both teams he lost to are in the top 8 and have top 10 defenses.

Mariota hasn't faced anyone worth a monkey's ballsack yet.

RS FR should not be considered for the award. I know that they're eligible, but I think it's unfair for a guy who's been in a college program for 2 years to get the nod over a true FR who just walked into college and started playing well.

All of this. RS FR have spent over a year in a college strength and conditioning program, not to mention they had a year to learn their offense/defense. Much more impressive for a true FR to come in and put up big numbers.

A freshman is a freshman. Some of those "true" freshmen may have gone off to prep school for a year or may have been held back a grade earlier in life and have another year of physical development.

Oregon QB for sure. TJ Yeldon will get mentions. He'd have some amazing stats if he wasn't behind Lacy.

Didn't Yeldon get shut down for four games.

Manziel has been pulled from several games early as well... SMU, SC St, Arkansas, and Auburn off the top of my head. Plus, the two games he lost were to top 10 teams with top 5 defenses(which Oregon hasn't even come close to playing).

okay, he could be.

but he's not.

don't get me wrong, mariota is a beast, but manziel is putting up ridiculous numbers for a senior, much less a freshman.
